Awesome uniform! I'm impressed at the design that it fits so well on both male and female, uniformed, and hot on the look.

Really love the female uniform. While it has enough curves to show it is a female character, it doesn't go into that over the top territory that many games like to do.

But what if I wanted to be a space communist? FOR GLORIOUS SOCIALIST REVOLUTION, COMRADE!

I love the hi-tech frogging on the jacket. It is great how you were able to keep the outline of a Napoleonic tunic while making it fully sci-fi.

My favourite Star Fleet uniforms are in Star Trek: Generations; where the Next Gen crew go straight from a holodeck recreation of the sailing ship Enterprise, to the bridge of the Star Ship Enterprise, still in full uniform.

I would love to see more of these design updates, they are really interesting.

@Jannick: Do you have any topics to suggest? You can thank Kelly Costanza for today's update as we had not really thought about it
@euansmith: Do you remember which season and episode it was?
@Stewart: We will not rule out that certain ideologies from Earth or elements from these may make an appearance in The Mandate, but the Rebels will not be space communists. Perhaps something for modders later? ;)
@light487, @IamHowie: Good to hear! Chainmail bikinis are a bit impractical in space, wrong intellectual property and grossly out of date!

Can I change my unit/officer color to Star Wars Storm Trooper 'White' or 40K "Red"? ;p

euansmith is talking about the beginning of the movie Star Trek: Generations.

As always, love the attention to detail -- part of what attracted me to this game in the first place! (c:

Can't wait to explore this universe of yours and weave my own stories in it!

      And yep, great uniforms! (c:

I really like the first hat style, maybe it could be a formal dress hat where the helmet hat thing is regular wear

It just seems to come across more as a commader's headwear showing their importance than the helmet hat or police hat

I must agree with the many others who have said so, these design updates are great, and you should continue to do them. While crunchy details are important, the importance of graphic design style is often overlooked these days, particularly in interfaces.

I personally would be interested in seeing what concept design work you're doing on the UI; having a UI that reinforces the look and feel of a game can make more a of a difference to the overall tone and feel of the game than a lot of people think. A minimalist, "present-the-relevant-info-with-minimal-clutter" type of UI may work for minimalist games, but using one in a game like this would be a real shame. A lot of modern strategy games and RPGs seem to have this problem; if you look back at the interfaces of older games, they generally contain a lot of purely decorative elements. Despite the low resolution of the art in these games, the style used in the UI helped contribute to the overall feel of the world. For a few examples, do an image search for "master of orion", "master of magic", and "might and magic xeen" to contrast and compare a few old-school interfaces that have very different feels to them, despite the lack of details forced by the low resolution.

Amazing attention to detail. And outfits while eye-candy seems quite right for armor.

Would there be any cool space pirate uniforms?

Wondering about the rebel uniforms too.
