STORY

Anna and Richard, a married couple who have experienced a tragedy, the loss of their infant child, have grown apart. One day a mysterious stranger appears in Anna’s life, claiming to be a time traveller from the future, sent here to change past mistakes to make the life in the future better. One of those mistakes, the stranger claims, is Anna’s husband, and he has to be erased. Is he crazy? Or could it be true? While Anna is becoming worried about her husband’s life, she also finds the possibility of going back and changing her own past intoxicating.
The story and concept was pitched to producer Iain Smith (Fifth Element, Wanted, Children of Men) who recognised it as a very strong and unique potential film.

WHO WE ARE

We are a small team of young filmmakers who have worked together on a number of projects throughout the last 2 years.
Through our love of filmmaking and determination to learn the craft we have gained experience and knowledge in our respective filmmaking departments, resulting in us producing award-winning short films (see below) in the last couple of years.
We are always eager to learn more and we believe that our next major step into a career of filmmaking is this film.

WHY WE NEED YOU

We are trying to raise a total of £2,000 towards the costs of the production, in addition to the money we are already investing ourselves. Here is a rough breakdown of where your money would be going:
-Equipment- £600
-Acting fees- £600
-Props & locations- £500
-Travel expenses- £250
-Catering- £200

TIMELINE

Mid-February to mid-March: Production process

April: Video and sound editing process begins, Composer (James Morris: http://www.jamesmorris.org.uk/) designs a score and colour correction & finishing takes place.

May: Preliminary screening to peers for feedback.

June: Official premiere and the beginning of the the Festival Tour.

Our main ambition is to enter this film into some of the most prestigious short film festivals worldwide, hopefully earning us and the film recognition. Our goal being that we will attract the attention of investors who would be interested in backing us in making a feature film based off Project Utopia, which we already have a lot of ideas for.

Risks and challenges

We are currently doing all the we can do make the production of the film risk free and as things stand, all locations and props are secure and two of the three main roles have been cast. One concern is finding the perfect performer that will succeed in portraying the character of Anna as the role is very demanding and deep. Further auditions for Anna will be taking place later this month, hopefully landing us with the perfect leading lady.

Another challenge we face is to pull off this multi-layered and complex narrative on screen, hopefully making it our most successful film to date that, upon watching, would leave the viewer with after-thought and in awe. Moreover, as our previous work has been so well received in the past, there is the risk that this film will not meet the same expectations.

Of course the biggest hurdle at the moment that stands between us and getting this film made would be to not reach the target of £2,000 through crowd funding as it is essential if we want to put this story on screens worldwide.
