**By the way - all levels $25 upwards also include a download of The Fire & The Sigh - we can't edit the descriptions since the project has already launched, but we'll make sure you get your copy.**
Hello there. We're a mostly-Irish, currently San Francisco based indie band called I Am Not Lefthanded. We've released 2 EPs so far, and a number of enthusiastic - if occasionally perplexing - videos, which you can check out at: www.youtube.com/iamnotlefthanded
If you're meeting us for the first time, you can download our free catch-up EP, Previously on I Am Not Lefthanded from www.iamnotlefthanded.com/music.html
Last year, we raised $11,000 with the help of you and people like you, to record our first full-length album, The Fire & The Sigh. We've just finished writing, recording and mixing it - it's being mastered in Seattle by the awesome John McCaig as you read this.
We're so grateful that everyone supported us to record the album, now we want to get out there and play it for you all. We have just been invited to showcase the new album at North by Northeast in Toronto in June. It's Canada's top indie music festival - their equivalent of America's South by Southwest. Last October, we were asked to play at Toronto's Indie Week - you can see us performing an acoustic song above a busy Toronto street at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IYqk0Mbci4. We had an amazing time and met some brilliant people, including the head of NXNE itself, who advised us to apply. We also think they wanted us to see Toronto in June, rather than October, as it's a little bit warmer!
We're so thrilled to be invited back, but we've spent every penny we raised on finishing the album. We know that you guys have been fantastic to help us get this far. We wouldn't be doing this without your support and we're so excited to share the new album with you.
We can't do this without you - if we can't raise this money, we're going to have to turn down this opportunity. We know it's a big ask, but it's you guys that we do this for anyway, so if you can get us there, we'll make sure we squeeze every drop of excitement out of it. There's a list of pledges to the right - you know how this works, if you support us, we'll send you a postcard from Toronto, or play a private show for you, or even take you on tour with us.
We've had such a positive reaction from Canadians, this could be a real chance to get a foothold into the Canadian market. If we exceed our goal, we're going to try and arrange shows in Ottawa and Montreal as well, making a short tour out of the whole thing - hopefully the first of many!
If you can donate just $1, that'll help us get that bit closer to our goal. And don't worry, even if we can't make it to Canada, we're full of plans to release the album online and on the road - we've been cooped up in the studio for too long.
Thanks for taking the time to read this,
