Victoriana is a cooperative board game for 1 - 4 players. Players take the roles of (in)famous Victorian characters, real and fictional. Following a trail of clues through sprawling 19th century London, you (and your friends) must investigate a dire conspiracy that threatens Queen and Country. If all three elements of the conspiracy- mastermind, plot, and locale- are discovered before Big Ben chimes midnight, the players race to a climactic confrontation to determine the fate of the British Empire. All backers at the "IN FOR A POUND STERLING" $49 pledge level and above receive all unlocked stretch goals absolutely free of charge. In addition, all backers will get to vote for the Backer Choice stretch goals.
- Choose Your Investigator: Each investigator must use their unique abilities and resources to solve the conspiracy while avoiding the trauma that awaits them.
- Investigate Leads: Lead cards represent clues about the conspiracy. Spend your political, scientific, underworld, and occult resources to collect them. But hurry- take too long and leads will go cold!
- Uncover the Plot: Spend collected leads to narrow the possible schemes. Players are rewarded for each plot they eliminate, but beware- a dangerous agent of the conspiracy lurks if you get too close to the truth.
- Reveal the Mastermind: Each mastermind is protected by three henchmen. Save collected leads to put these villains away for good.
- Traverse London: Avoid sinister agents! Enlist the help of Scotland Yard! Explore the darkest corners and famous landmarks of London until you have revealed the conspiracy's locale!
- Foil the Conspiracy: Once all three elements of the conspiracy are revealed, gather your investigators for a final confrontation.

Tension that builds throughout the game: As elements of the conspiracy are revealed, so are agents of the mastermind. The better your play, the more challenging the game becomes.
Time made tangible: Each time the clock advances a quarter hour, all leads in play physically turn a quarter turn clockwise. If a lead ever returns to the 12 o’clock position, it is lost forever. Players use this visible timer to prioritize their actions.
Multiple resources to manage: Players must balance four types of influence, abilities, movement, and trauma in order to stop the conspiracy before time, the most limited resource of all, runs out.
Fantastic variety: With more than 90 unique leads, 20 possible plots, 10 fearsome masterminds, and the whole of 19th century London as the setting, Victoriana will never play the same way twice.
Engaging theme: Combining characters from Victorian literature with real-world scientists, politicians, occultists, and more, Victoriana offers a rich, exciting world for players to experience. The game comes to life thanks to incredible art and design work by Ian O'Toole (www.ianotoole.com).

Casefile: The Ripper Returns!—Looking for a more narratively driven experience? This add-on allows you to play through a single story set within the world of Victoriana. Told through prose, illustration, and campaign-style play over the course of several games, The Ripper Returns! introduces new mechanics that allow player choices, successes, and failures to carry forward and alter the future direction and outcome of the case.
Casefile: The Ripper Returns! will offer many new tweaks to Victoriana’s gameplay. Best of all, when you’re finished uncovering every surprise the case has to offer, six of its forty-eight cards can be used in the base game. To receive Casefile: The Ripper Returns!, add $18 to your pledge level.

Risks and challenges
While Victoriana is fully developed and playtested, there are potential challenges in the production of the game. Finalizing the art could take longer than anticipated. Printing and shipping could be delayed by forces outside of our control. We trust our production partners and ourselves to finish Victoriana in a timely fashion, but the unexpected may occur.
In order to solve these issues before they occur, we have taken every opportunity to research the production process in order to build a realistic timeline for delivery. We have purposefully limited pledge options to simplify the fulfillment process. Not only that, we have included in our timeline a generous buffer in case of unexpected delays. We would MUCH rather ship you Victoriana a month or two early than have to write you the email all Kickstarter backers dread receiving, informing you of delays. We believe our timeline to be realistic and achievable.
