Pet-Tich-Eye and Art of Cool Festival

Hello all you wonderful backers. It's been a few months since we last checked in. Everyone should have received their Pet-Tich-Eye rewards by now. We hope you all have enjoyed the records. Plans are underway to begin recording the next collaboration and as our first supporters we will be sending that single out to all of our backers once it is complete.

Our manufacturer, Furnace, recently sent us a batch of records that were returned undeliverable. I will be reaching out to get updated addresses so I can personally mail out the vinyl. Please let me know if you have not received your Pet-Tich-Eye reward.

I also wanted to let you all know about another campaign I think is really special. The Art of Cool is planning a Jazz festival in Durham and they need some help making their goal. I remember how much support we received in the last days of our campaign and I am endlessly grateful for that support. They have 4 days left on theirs.

Pet-Tich-Eye will donate a vinyl package with art book, cd and download card to every person that contributes at the Locally Cool level. This level includes a special music download by The Beast, festival swag, a two-day wristband and curated merchandise from restaurants and merchants all over downtown Durham. This means that all your favorite restaurants, coffee shops and stores downtown are throwing in to make this reward level worth the money. We thought we contribute as well. Check it out.

Great news! Your vinyl has shipped!

Good afternoon,

I hope everyone is having a good week. We just received word from our manufacturer that our vinyl has shipped. Due to the unfortunate error and extreme delay, they offered to ship individual vinyl out to those who preordered. The rest will be shipped to us and we'll get them in the Record Stores ASAP. For those of you who chose the Merch package or the Live Local package we will be mailing those out as soon as we receive the vinyl.

So far we've raised a little over $500 for the community organizations. We hope to keep spreading the word about this record and the Pet-Tich-Eye project. We have some exciting new collaborations planned for the coming months. You can follow the project on Twitter or Facebook to see what's coming next.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

News from Furnace.

Yesterday afternoon, moments before I hit the road to pick up our vinyl packages, we received the following email from the production manager at Furnace. I was devastated when I realized that I would not be able to mail all the rewards out today as I had planned to do. I think it is important to keep everyone informed about the situation so you are not left wondering when you will receive your Pet-Tich-Eye reward. I will be driving to meet David Maunder in Richmond, VA on Friday afternoon to pick up our vinyl and we will get your rewards mailed out as soon as possible.

Hi Ashlie,

How are you? I'm writing to give you the same news I had to give David just an hour ago. There's been a very unfortunate and unforeseeable delay on the vinyl order, and it's going to delay the day David can meet you in Richmond with the records in hand. We've been pushing hard on this end, from pressing to packout and everything in between to get the last push of Record Store Day titles out.

Unfortunately, 2 skids of vinyl are delayed in their transit from the plant to us here in Fairfax, including your order. I've been on the phone with our forwarding agents and customs this morning, working out the plan to get them on a flight into our facility. At this hour, it looks like we will be abel to recover them in time to hit our doors here Friday morning. We're going to pull in an early crew and have them meet the vinyl first thing Friday morning to pack and have it done by the end of the day.

I know this is very bad news, as you need to get records out in advance of RSD as well as have them in hand for your release and this definitely puts you in a tight spot in terms of getting records where they need to be. All things considered, I'm relieved to be able to assure you that we will have records fro you for your show and for this weekend, we have a number of other titles that look as if they won't be able to arrive in VA before Monday of next week.

Again, my sincere apologies for this turn of events. It's extra frustrating when we're down to the wire, and everything is humming along and a kink like this throws a wrench in our well laid plans- and I can only imagine the stress this will cause on your end. David has been pushing hard on your behalf for weeks and I know he was beyond disappointed when he realized he wouldn't be able to get these in your hands tonight. We all are.

We will have records for you Friday, and I hope that is good news in the face of this unfortunate circumstance

thank you, and I will confirm again Friday just for your peace of mind.

Overwhelmed with gratitude!

I feel incredibly unequipped, limited by words, to accurately express what I felt when I realized that we had reached our Kickstarter goal. Describing my emotional outburst, the uncontrollable dancing around my apartment, yelling, laughing and crying all at the same time, might paint a picture of what I looked like in celebration, but in all honesty, what I felt is much harder thing to describe.

I am thankful beyond measure, grateful for every single person who believed in this project and contributed to help us reach our goal. I am thankful for those who cared enough to share the project with friends and family and for those who reached out and encouraged me throughout this process.

What I hope this campaign achieved was more than just raise money to pay off a debt incurred to create the first release; I hope it raised awareness about this project and the vision we have for future collaborations and partnerships within the community.

If you haven't received a personal message from me yet, please know I plan to send one to each of you. If you have any questions you can send me a message on here or email me at

Collaborative Chef Dinner

Good Morning!

We've got 57 hours left in the campaign, and we really feel like we will make our goal. I want to thank each of you for the kind notes of encouragement and for supporting this project from the beginning.

Thanks to Heather Cook at Shindigs, we have prepared the following press release and will be making announcements about the collaborative chef dinner throughout the day. There are a very limited number of tickets available so we hope this will encourage people to go ahead and get their tickets through the campaign, which will be all we need to make our goal. If you know anyone interested in foodie events, please let me them know about the dinner.

I thought I'd include the press release below to keep you guys in the loop.

Again, thank you so much for all of your support, sharing, encouragement and positive vibes.
