Inspired by writer/director Amy Heidt’s lengthy tenure in restaurants, this short explores the delicate relationship between those who serve and those who are served, and what happens when the person in the subservient role tries to flip the script. On the night we meet her, the Waitress finds herself unable to smile and play along, and lets off a bit of steam in what she considers to be a harmless way. Later, she finds that she may have actually caused some harm. If victims make the best tyrants, and everyone is the hero of their own story, how do you separate the good guys from the bad guys?
