About this project

There are a million and 3 eCommerce sites out there so why bring up another....

Well, what if you could virtually go shopping with your friend from the other side of the world. or go to a live auction that looks and feels like a live auction.

I am planning to build an augmented reality environment combining the full social experience of the mall.

Store owners will be able to virtually interact with their customers. products will be picked up off the shelves and be able to be viewed in a 3d space.

Store owners will receive a startup kit, including a tablet, a barcode scanner and a thermal printer. The Mall Of The Internet software will be on the tablet and make it simple to set up their inventory/products. shipment can be printed directly from the tablet to the users choice of USPS,Fedex or UPS. The Software will manage the inventory availability and locations..

Customers can window shop or virtually try on clothes, shoes, accessories.

Go to the food court to order takeout from local restaurants or socialize with your friends from other social sites as well as friends just in the Mall.

Risks and challenges

The plan is to build and test in stages so that we can tackle any obstacle as it comes up.
Environment: building the fluid VR environment so that it is seamless from device to browser.
Ecommerce: The Store interface, both seller and customer experience
Social Networking: Integrating with the big boys(Facebook and Twitter) and having our own full featured system as well.
Live Auctions: a Scheduled and timed auction system, with a live auctioneer.
Food Court: Integration with large chains at first and offer incentives for local restraunts to open a store front to increase potential business.

The biggest obstacle is Time.
I plan on devoting All of my time to this as well as hiring a Graphics designer and contracting additional programming help as needed.
