Real Racing 3D - The App that I want on webOS [Episode 21]

Posted by Phoenix International Communications (Creator)

Temple Run may not appeal to everyone, so we thought we'd share a few more clips of the accelerated graphics in action. For you racing fans, here's Real Racing 3D, running on the HP Touchpad thanks to ACL for webOS.

[HD video HERE]

Now as we mentioned before the acceleration work is still in progress, as you'll notice from the flickers and inaccurate coloration, but what you can see is that the speed has increased tremendously, and that we weren't misleading you when we said the user experience on apps would be close to native.

We're in the final stretch now, and should be able to confirm delivery dates for everyone soon.

Thanks for all your support over the past few months! Enjoy the video and... Long live webOS!

@Delme Jones and thg: Updates 10 and 11, which were both posted in May (18 & 21 May) cover other "modern" browsers running on ACL. I love the fact that they are working on gaming in ACL. I want as many Android apps as possible to run on ACL in webOS. I don't want to boot into AOSP or CM for anything.

Yes, modern browser is more valuable than a game and very much needed.

Same here, I'm not interested in gaming on the TouchPad, if I would do so, I would by me an iPad, a DS or what ever.

What about a modern browser, like Firefox? Or the Heise c't-app for reading the most popular german computer magazine?

Well you are honest about the graphic problems you still have. But how about some apps to show the support of other hardware components like bluetooth or gps (touchpad 4G), camera like some augmented reality apps completely missing in webOS. Like google skymap,  Satellite AR, Layar, Movue, Wikitude or games like Ingress.
