I am Michael Percy. In the past I have sculpted miniatures in various scales for many different miniature manufacturers. I've now started my own venture three Armies https://www.threearmies.co.uk/ This is going to cover the Napoleonic wars and specialises in filling in the figures that are not available in other ranges. The figures best suited to my style are Perry Miniatures and that is what I try to 'fit in' with.
The reason for requesting funding is that I can sculpt the figures much quicker than these can be production moulded. Every time I sculpt a figure it costs me on average £5+ each just to mould them and about the same to hold stocks. So a six figure pack can cost me £60 just to put on the shelf not including my sculpting costs. NB I'm not asking for funding for my sculpting time.
This project allows you the backer to get British Battalions to suit Waterloo and late Peninsular war in full dress with shakos that you can paint the cords plumes and brass plates! and some Battalions in 'foul weather gear', For those that want a quick army to paint. I've never seen these before in 28mm.
For now there will not be any stretch goals. But I will revisit another KS later in the year to cover more of Wellingtons troops at Waterloo.
Most of these figures are already sculpted and some have even been master moulded and awaiting production moulding, so we do not envisage any delay in satisfying the backers pledges.
Thank you for reading this far, and if this is funded I will plan many more of these with full ranges including cavalry and Artillery.
Risks and challenges
The challenge is the cost of moulding, and a range that offers a variety of poses just adds more moulding costs. The only real risk is all mine as these are already sculpted and if the project is not funded then they will not be moulded.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
