Hi backers, this is just a small and quick update.
I've been wearing the rejected units for the past month and have identified another area on the connectors that can be improved, so we're going to do that now.
Basically, as with all metal surfaces (this applies to both plated steel and anodized aluminum), the sharper edges will inevitably "hold" less colour than flat surfaces. I found that the edges of the connectors, being so sharply precise, were wearing a bit.
What we're going to do is to round out the edges ever so slightly so that it'll hold more dye and hopefully improve upon this.
Even my Space Grey Apple Watch is scraped up at the corners of the slots after a couple of months of use...so it's an inherent issue with all metals and from all products.
When we have a better ETA on when I can do the next QC inspection, I'll let you all know.
