Customs Friendly Single Point Shipping: We're going to be shipping rewards out (with the exception of prints) using customs friendly single point shipping from Ship Naked. After talking with Dan at Ship Naked he informed me that at Besieged's weight, dimensions, and declared cost it is very rare that a shipment would be subject to additional customs and import fees. This is the same method used by Tiny Epic Galaxies and after shipping thousands of units they only had a few backers have additional charges. This is true for backers who just get one copy of the base game or the base game and expansion.
If there is any issue where a backer is hit with customs and import fees in these cases, email myself or Ship Naked and we can work out a way to reimburse these unplanned costs. For backers outside the US ordering multiple copies of the game, shipping weight will increase and we cannot use bubble mailers so these fees will likely occur and not be reimbursed in these cases. It should be noted that the prints will not be shipped through Ship Naked and will be mailed out in protective tubes as soon as the order comes in.
If we over fund, we'll be able to up the quantity of copies of Besieged we order. This will decrease the cost of each unit and allow us to put more money into the game and improve the quality. We have about eight stretch goals in mind for this project. Most of these upgrades are going to improve the components of our game. While there are one or two new card goals for the game I sought to make Besieged (and its expansion) a complete game so most of the new ideas I came up with for Besieged are in the game already.
Even though we have our own ideas already, please be sure to make suggestions in the comments section about what you'd like to see added or how we can improve Besieged! As we all know, tabletop gaming starts with one person's idea but it is the ideas and experiences we share together that make tabletop games become great! Check out the revealed Stretch Goals below!

Items in the Armoury can be added to Pledges of the Knight level and higher. Prints can be added at any tier as they will be shipped from our home base and not Ship Naked's warehouses.

Daniel Grek was inspired to create Besieged by a deluge of microgames and memories of classic poker deck games he played as a kid. Though Besieged evolved out of true microgame status he still thinks it's a neat little game to tote around. He started Concrete Canoe Games at the end of 2012 to put a more professional face on his game designs. As of yet he mostly makes his games available through The Game Crafter but there are a few more projects in the works that he hopes to see grow some legs and run wild. He lives in New Jersey and pays the bills by teaching Civil Engineering courses. Below you can see him playing with concrete and sword fighting. Oh yeah, sometimes he is a knight too. Sorry, may have buried the lead on that one.
Ryan Gilleece, our dope artist, is a recent graduate of the Kubert School for Cartooning and Graphic Art in NJ. He loves anything Mega Man related and his dream job would be drawing the Blue Bomber for Archie Comics. Even since starting the art for Besieged his skills have grown tremendously. You can check him out at the links below and can pick up some prints through this campaign to support him further.
Risks and challenges
Given that this is my first Kickstarter I have posted, I have thoroughly researched as much as possible. I've made sure to find prices to cover actual and potential costs that will still give the backers a great deal, quality product, and guarantee a successful project as best I can. I've discussed running Kickstarters with several game developers, some who have run numerous successful Kickstarters on their own, to find out little details that many people initially miss. I've also read numerous articles, blogs, and have listened to many gaming podcasts dealing with Kickstarter projects.
The majority of the artwork is already done. Any other graphical updates will be either backer driven or in response to seeing proofs from the printer.
The printing of the game will be handled by Quality Playing Cards. QPC has handled a great deal of Kickstarted games and I've been in contact with Juliann at QPC for since Summer 2014 about quotes and manufacturing details. Shipping will be fulfilled by Ship Naked and will allow us to have Customs Friendly Shipping that should reduce costs for all international backers. As mentioned earlier I've been assured there is very little issue with customs or import fees this way for single game orders.
As for timing on shipping, there have been many shipping delays for Kickstarters due to back ups at the docks in the West coast of the US. Some Kickstarters have even been delayed a total of 6 months. As such I tried to give an over-estimated shipping time to account for large shipping delays but it is obviously difficult to predict.
I will work to respond to backer comments in a timely fashion and will work to get as quality of a product as possible in your hands. Together I hope we can push this campaign through to funding.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
