We are excited about the wide range of musical ensembles that will be represented in this concert. Performers will include Akiko Hosaki of Westminster Choir College, Devin and Rebecca Mariman of Fuma Sacra, The Skylark String Quartet of Westminster Conservatory, The Wyncote Wind Octet, and The Composer's Chamber Choir under the direction of Deborah Kilmer. Featured will be The Goops and How to Be Them, a set of children's songs scored for treble voices.
The concert will be held at the Hillsborough Reformed Church at Millstone, a lovely early nineteenth century building with a wonderful acoustic. Our performance will take place on Sunday, October 20 at 4:00 PM. Please come!
Because of the great diversity exhibited in this program, and the number of professional musicians involved, this concert will only be possible with your help. The funding we raise through Kickstarter will be used to pay the performers and the sound engineer; to pay the Church for the use of their beautiful sanctuary; and to pay for other expenses involved in producing a live concert and CD-R.
Risks and challenges
One of the challenges is recruiting the right performers for each set. At this point I have most of the people I need, but as is so often that the case, I need tenors ! Also, coordinating a rehearsal schedule with this many moving parts is difficult at best.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
