SONS OF PERDITION has been officially selected for THE TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL, April 2010!
The film is one of twelve documentaries chosen to compete in the festival’s World Documentary Feature Competition. www.tribecafilm.com/festival/features/TFF_10_World_Documentary_Features.html
The WORLD PREMIERE of the film is April 23rd, and we need your help to finish the film, and to bring our Sons of Perdition’s “stars”—Sam, Bruce, and Joe—to NYC for the screening. www.tribecafilm.com/festival/
So many of you have supported us over the last four years as we’ve worked to turn our labor of love into a feature-length film. Now we hope you can help us in the final stretch: WE set a fundraising goal and a date—$5,000 by April 20th—YOU help us meet it OR the money goes back to you.
What will your money go towards? It will be put towards much needed use on the final post-production audio mix and color correction so that all our gritty (and beautiful) footage will be ready for the big screen. We would also love to introduce New York audiences to the film’s real stars—our courageous teens featured in SONS OF PERDITION. So we’re looking for help with travel, lodging, and teenage appetites (pizza is fine, right?). We’re not sure who will be more amazed and intrigued during the film’s Q&A—the boys or the audience.
While we are extremely excited about our Tribeca premiere we always return to the film’s genesis: the plight of nearly a thousand teens struggling to survive in religious exile without their families or community. We sincerely hope that SONS OF PERDITION will foster healthy dialogue and facilitate critical outreach for these teens.
The boys are skilled carpenters and builders, and they often use the word “build” in place of “make”. So please join us as we build the final frames of our film. No amount of support is too small—even penny nails make a house.
