Case mold and shipping update

I wanted to provide a quick update on the shipping estimates.  We have had a few additional minor delays that we are working to resolve as soon as possible.

Our injection molder has taken much longer than expected to finish the molds.  Through a series of delays and communication issues, the process has taken a month and half more than we were originally told.  April 28th to May 1st is a holiday in China, so the factory is shut down most of this week.  The good news is that the molds have now been completed, and the final parts should be made next week.

Attached is a photo of some mold tests.  As you can see, they were done with whatever plastics they had on hand - not the final black color.

To lessen the effect of this delay, we are air-shipping enough cases to begin final production while the rest of them are shipped by sea.  As soon as we have a definite date on when those cases will be arriving, we'll post an exact date.  We expect it to be within a few weeks.

I sincerely appreciate your backing this project.  It has grown well beyond my initial expectations, and I can't wait to get these printers in your hands to see the fantastic things everyone creates.  We are taking these minor delays as an opportunity to enhance firmware and add features to our APIs so that when you receive the best device possible.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

      Hi Andy,

Thanks for the update. I have to say that I personally do not mind the delay: you're doing great (both with the mPrinter according to the pictures and with the updates!). Don't break a sweat, as a backer I think that you're doing a fine job and you shouldn't make compromises to make a deadline. Keep it up!

Thanks for the updates and open communication. It sounds like you are expecting the finished product will ship in June, is that correct? Just trying to set my own expectation for when it will arrive. (I may be moving soon so may need send you an updated address.)
