Just got my size small oi bell. mounted on my bike and ... fail :(
The bell doesn't ring. It thuds. Very disappointing. I dont know if it's defective or I'm doing something wrong, but how do you install a bike bell incorrectly.
Hi, Any news on shipping? thanks
any further updates on shipping?
@Knog The bike is ready. It just needs a sexy bell to make it complete!
I almost can't wait for the arrival of the bell. There are a lots of Pokemon zombies walk on the road.
@Robert Doswell: We have just started production and will be looking at shipping out the first batch of bells at the end of this month. Address details need to be locked down now so that we can have everything set up and ready to go at the fulfillment centres.
I've just received a "last chance to update your shipping address" email - are they on their way??
@Paul: I bet the bike's a beauty though :)
I went and bought a whole new bike just to match the Oi bell. See what you made me do :-)
How does the hammer hold up in extreme (brittle) cold conditions will it snap?
@Christian: We'll try our best and will start shipping out bells from the end of August.
We are headed to England August 31st to cycle tour LEJOG. Would love to have mine by then.
@Steve: Yep, we're still planning on shipping the Oi's towards the end of August.
Are you still planning on shipping in August?
Thank you for the regular update. Look forward to seeing it in action over the next few months!
Enjoyed seeing your company on the slick NAB ads in OZ.
Short, frequent updates are awesome! Thanks for keeping us informed!
If this sounds half as great as it looks, I will be very happy to receive this in the post before too long. It really does look the part, elegant and usable, thanks for spending the time on getting this just right.
Hopefully the sound is audible enough by production. I currently use a ringer style bell on my commuter that I love, but can't fit it on my mtb due to it not clearing the clamps on my brakes/shifters, to be close enough to conveniently reach. Hoping this fits nicely next to my grips, and still does the job of alerting others of my approach well enough. I know the Crane E-Ne that I tried (Spurcycle clone) wasn't loud enough for my purpose.
Getting more and more excited about this. This is also my first true kickstarter project contribution and I already own a few Knog products so it's great to have a first production run item!
(clap) i will be so proud to show off with my Oi! :) :)
even planned to offer 2 of them ;)
Well done lads, looks great so far. Touch wood it's all smooth sailing until the end! :)
@Stephanie: Thank you, that means a lot :)
@Michael: Great to hear! In our wet weather testing the Oi's have performed really well. The tone is affected slightly by the rain, but this is only natural, and the bell sound still rings loud and clear.
@Svetlana: Thanks for the comment. The Oi bells are due to go into production later this month and are scheduled to ship towards the end of August.
Looking forward to August to see them in the flesh. Does the ringer work the same in the wet (UK weather). Would a waterproof coating work, that would repel the noise dampening droplets?
Thanks for the update. Yours was the first Kickstarter I backed and appreciate the news.
I still did not get my 2 ordered pieces.
@Pichit: The Oi hasn't been manufactured yet, and is due to go into production later this month, so cannot be available to purchase in Thailand yet. Also, all Kickstarter backers will receive their Oi bells before any are potentially sold in retail.
Why it had sold in thailand for general customer before backer?
Thank you, looks great :)
