Maps Made Easy Point System
There are a lot of variables when it comes to mapping. Altitude, camera, focal length, resolution, urgency, area covered, overlap, terrain, types of objects being mapped and so on... The list gets pretty long. There is no single approach that will work for everything, so we have applied a point-based system to address varying complexity, accuracy, urgency, and use cases. The bigger and more urgent the map, the more points it will require. The more points you buy, the cheaper they are. It's that simple.
There are two ways to get points: outright purchase or monthly subscription. Subscription points are cheaper, but expire every month. Purchased points cost more but last forever. It is all about how you plan on using them. If you have a subscription, but find yourself needing more points, you can always purchase more. Points are taken from the subscription points total first, if available, then the purchased points. Like we said, flexible.
Point Use Examples:
We will offer 3 service levels: ASAP, Expedited and Normal. These levels let us deliver maps quickly to those who really need it and cheaply to those that don't want to pay.
- Normal - Delivered in however long it takes to process the job + 72 hours.
- Expedited - Delivered in job processing time + 24 hours. Requires 2X base points.
ASAP - Delivered in job processing time. Requires 4X base points.
Expedited and Normal service levels will almost always come in way sooner than their quoted maximum due time, but we guarantee delivery by the quoted ETA.
The most efficient way to purchase points is to get a subscription that you think will meet your needs most of the time and purchase points to supplement additional need. That way you aren't stranding points but are still getting the best rate possible.
We provide the free subscription as a way to let people that are evaluating the technology see if they are interested in getting a subscription and let people who want to do a couple simple maps try it out in the easiest way possible. We provide fee-free users enough points to do two or three small maps per month at our normal service level.
