Can anyone give me suggestion about the diamond keycap and chrome keycap....is chrome keycap difficult to type? I am still thinking to decide by the the look or the typing comfortability.

Thanks @michael Meissner for explaining that. Wasn't sure if the switches could be swapped out the same way the key caps could.

Now I just need to figure out if I go with red or brown as I think the blue might be TOO clacky and loud for general use

Whoops, I meant pallet, not pallel in terms of buying things in bulk. The essential idea is I imagine the company making these switches is not set up for retail sales, and only sells huge pallets of the switches to the manufacturers.

@Penelope: I highly doubt there is any way to change switches. You should be able to change keycaps, but the actual switch is part of the way the keyboard is made.

In theory, you might be able to de-glue each of the switches on the keyboard, and re-glue new switches. This is likely to be very labor intensive.

It also might be that the red/brown/blue switches are only available to keyboard manufacturers, or only available when you order in large bulk like a pallel load.

So if you want to switch between red/brown/blue, your only real option is to buy a second or third keyboard.

If you know a gamer that has mechanical keyboards, you might ask to try out their keyboards if they have the appropriate red, brown, or blue keyboards.

The cherry Switch videos seem to have disappeared from Youtube!
I'm trying to figure out which one I want and it's difficult to do without the video on what they each sound like.

Also, I know you said the keys and pouch would be available at the end of the year, but will this also include the switches? Is it possible to change the switches later?
I'm thinking that if I pick one and then after using it for a while find I want a different type (softer/harder/quieter) then I can get one later in the year. Is this possbile OR is the switch we select now the only switch the Penna will have?

Thank you for your reply. I realized that the survey click through just took you to Kickstarter (iPhone) but on the desktop, it gave me an option for the survey. I've completed it, but just wanted to post here if anyone else couldn't click through to the survey on their phone. Thanks!
P.S. If I didn't opt for the blue switch, I would like to. But if it's too late, I'm sure it will be fine with any switch. :). too late,the

Stanley Rosholt: Note the link you posted is no longer available at amazon.com. There are others available if you look for "mechanical keyboard typewriter". But the kickstarter (and indegogo) campaigns are somewhat different than what I see at Amazon. Many of the keyboards at amazon are geared towards normal computers. Or they are gutting an actual typewriter to be a keyboard.

This one is geared towards both computers and mobile phones, having the slot for phones/tablets and using bluetooth. So, it is somewhat different.

I just filled out my survey. It was a ping pong back and forth:

1) I would have loved to pick next to each video and read a quick description pointing out the differences.

2) Plus having the option to upgrade my pledge to a wooden unit with white crome keys.

I am bilingual and read and write in both languages - so I chose the Spanish Keyboard.

I would have liked to see the real keyboard. I like the iphone option that pressing the key longer you can choose the vowel you want to place an accent. I also suggest an emoji key so its easy to use modern symbols.

i apologize if this has been asked, but may i ask what the weight of this finished product is? it would give me some sense of the materials. in some of the pictures and videos it looks like the product slides around pretty easily with little effort. just want to ensure it's got some solid weight to it vs an all plastic logitech tablet keyboard. thanks in advance!

Hi, i was lookin at rendered images, the matte black version with diamond keycap is gray? or is black like the matte black with chrome keycap? cause in the sound test i saw thw keyboard is black while on image is more dark gray

Hi there.! Super excited to have backed this project. I felt sure when I first saw it, I was going to get matte black with white or black chrome caps. Then, in your survey, I saw the olive green with white chrome caps and I was torn. I watched the video over and over and I'd leave it and come back, look at the pics again - it took me literally hours to decide. Eventually I went the full retro - olive green with white chrome caps and the Cherry MX blue with US layout. Really happy with my choice. I cannot wait to get it and use it to write without the temptation to surf the net. Thanks so much for your extraordinary vision and for bringing this project to life. It's a thing of beauty and I look forward to seeing more retro projects in the future. Congratulations on a fabulous campaign! Best.

To clarify my question, I'm aware of that you can't make a swedish layout, however if we could get the option of buying blank tops we can make our own layouts to fit our needs. Say $5 or $10 per blank top would be an OK price range.

Hi, i want to know how would the cherry mix key red switch would sound on chrome and how the blue switch would sound on diamond.In the typing sound test we only get to know one switch with one key caps. im just wondering if they would sound differently on the 2 key caps as i can tell the red and brown sounded really different on the diamond.
