About this project
What is a short way to describe us?
A European (Western) style Manga comic magazine venture we hope to begin.
We’ve been fans of Manga for a long time. Most of the stories are Asian and we want to create one that is, for lack of a better word, more European.
We are starving (literally) and struggling authors and artists. With new electronic media such as eBooks, EPUB, Mobi, Kindle and even reading it off a website the ability to expand both the story and graphics is much greater. We also intend to do a .wav file for the blind.
We will release each series (as fast as we can make them) on our website you have access to (depending on your donor level). You can download each series from our website and participate in the discussion pages (even offering advice on where the future storyline goes) or we will email it to you in your preferred format.
You can read the first 3 series, text only, by going to our website http://univrm.com/change-hope-downloads/ and choose to download the file in .pdf format or choose to hear it in .mp3 file if you are sight impaired.
We’ve been through our budget penny by penny. The major issue we ran into, and this is not a fault of Kickstarter, it costs 40% of everything raised before we can even begin. The U.S. takes 30% as regular income and Kickstarter plus Amazon another 10%. In order for us to effectively produce our series we need enough money to pay writers, artists, computers, and all those other pesky bills of life. This means in order to produce the high quality series for a year for our donators we must raise $235,966.00 BUT in order to actually raise that money we must REALLY raise $430,000.00 or we go in debt trying to make the project work. In short, we must raise $430,000.00
With an average Manga Comic (or our extended version of same) this costs about $6.00 per month to produce good material. We’ve designed our donation schedule around this yearly cost assuming we raise all the money.
We really hope you support our project to bring a new form of literary art into being!

There are many differences.
The first part of the comic uses normal display format like a regular comic with art and text. Following the first part is a complete storyline like a book including larger pieces of art at key parts of the storyline so the reader has a complete background to go along with the first part of each issue (and the storyline for each subsequent issue).
We issue the comic/book series every two weeks. You are able to download it in any electronic format from our website or pick a method we email to you. You can also participate on the discussion forum about the direction the storyline is going and make comments, suggestions and interact with other fans.
