Would love to see an ability where once you have crafted a specific part of a ship, you can save it for use on later ships. Kinda like having your own scrapyard of prebuilt parts for your craft.
I think what they meant is they should stop after those two stretch goals. It's obvious CvC is going to make it in the game, however, hopefully it does end up being before launch.
Customization is already going to be in game. So, both are going to already be in the game at some point.
However, I think they meant no more stretch goals, and just focus on completion of the game. Which has draw backs of course, I mean... I wonder if anyone has done the marketing stuff on whether or not stretch goals boost funding. And how much of a factor they played in something like Star Citizen's funding.
I hope Novaquark DOES support the "Stretch Goals", I can't see this game seriously growing without both of them in-game. People need to be able to customize their look (to a degree - male/female) AND combat should play a big part in this game.
Hi everyone!
An update will be released today to keep you informed about the status of the campaign. As you can imagine, there is a lot of work to do even after the Kickaster is closed. You will have all the details in a few hours :)
I think we'll get some updates here soon @Al-Iskander Al-Albani
Novaquark tends to go a couple weeks sometimes without mentioning too much, then they usually answer some questions or announce something.
Please keep us updated every couple weeks! We'd love to know how things are progressing! Even if there isn't much to report, just say what you can so we can have something to look forward to!
Good morning btw! After the last days of the campaign with those greats videos of gameplay, I must say I've become rather spoiled. I know you guys have some infrastructure to work on and content shouldn't be rushed, although if there is anything I can do to help just say the word.
@Devil Khan -- Thank you for your answer.
Just one more thing, are those wild or domesticated pigeons? Because I might have a problem with domesticated pigeons due to a legal dispute involving a cylinder hat, 2 kernels of maze and a drunk blonde.
They send out pidgeons, and with a can of red bull for further away ones. By default, any PM will send outer an email. As for postal, that won't really be necessary until 2018 at the earliest again pm/email. However they could send via email from either backers sites or dual universe site
Well, I should clarify... I had a different reasoning, in that if they made the packs equally appealing, it shouldn't be a problem to offer different packs outside of the Kickstarter. Arguably, this would bring more donations from those currently complacent with their rewards at the moment ^^
But that's the point of kickstarter, an organization or person asks for funding while offering rewards or special items, discounts, and/or exclusive produces to encourage people to fund them. It's not being unfair or mean or rude to not offer this stuff to non backers. If my neighbor buys a 60" special edition TV from Fred Meyers, it's not "unfair" of Fred Meyers to not give me one if I can't afford it or if I try to get one after the event.
Remember, they kickstarter was up for over 40 days.
I do not wish to argue with you, as that seems counterproductive. But I do believe you misinterpreted my comment. The social goals have nothing to do with the packs themselves. NQ was stating that it would be "punishing" for those who were not able to back the Kickstarter, however, I was saying that it wouldn't be punishing if they made equally appealing packages with alpha/beta/etc.
It's fairly unprecedented for a Kickstarter to offer Kickstarter packs... after the Kickstarter. And those who do, usually alter the packs from their originals. Even Star Citizen altered their "packages" ^^
@Shane "hat being said, while we plan to give the opportunity to get Kickstarter packs for a very limited time on our website, there won't be:
- the best deals exclusive to Kickstarter (no Early birds, no Boosted packs)
- The rewards tied to the social goals reached or Kickstarter exclusive (no reservation name for 6000 backers milestone, no blueprint of the single-player hovercraft for 8000 backers milestone, no exclusive Kickstarter Outfit for Bronze packs or above) " What about that did you not see? I feel like that makes it kickstarter exclusive enough and I hope they even get more funding. I may upgrade to Emerald if they leave it up long enough where I can get some more money together.
I don't see how that would be punishing Paypal users, if the packs are equally appealing.
Some campaigns allowed Paypal purchases while the campaign was running, perhaps that would have been a better option. Eg.) Star Citizen and Novus Aeterno
Agree to disagree I suppose, it's just disappointing that your first action post-campign is something I find disagreeable.
@Shane:
While we want to keep the Kickstarter campaign as something unique, we also have to take in account those who would have support it if Paypal payment option was available on Kickstarter. It doesn't feel right to "punish" Paypal users just because they couldn't use this payment method on the Kickstarter platform. In some countries, payment by credit card is not that common and people use mostly Paypal as a workaround. That being said, while we plan to give the opportunity to get Kickstarter packs for a very limited time on our website, there won't be:
- the best deals exclusive to Kickstarter (no Early birds, no Boosted packs)
- The rewards tied to the social goals reached or Kickstarter exclusive (no reservation name for 6000 backers milestone, no blueprint of the single-player hovercraft for 8000 backers milestone, no exclusive Kickstarter Outfit for Bronze packs or above)
We think this is the best compromise we can make for satisfying both sides.
I'd like to congratulate you guys as this seems to be a very very interesting project, which I'm glad I contributed and became a small part of this.
I hope everything will continue to go well.
Although I am generally not in the habit of sending money to people so they can in turn build a product to sell to me I did this time because you have the potential to move MMO gaming forward by a huge leap.
Dual Universe has a number of hurdles, serious hurdles to clear and I wanted to help support you doing so. Please use this infusion of funding to complete the game and get it into the hands of players as soon as possible. A great idea that goes unrealized is little different from a wild idea that is impossible, you can't play either one of them.
This is a game I and many others want to play, it doesn't have to be perfect upon initial release but please get it into the hands of players and in the real market as soon as possible. It will evolve and grow and change but you need to let it loose into the market. Hard to let the not perfect go for perfectionists as most developers seem to be, but please do not make that mistake.
Get it into our hands and just commit to making it alive by improvement and adapting to what the player base does,
I’m backing both you guys and SC, but I’m actually betting and hoping you make it live first for a very simple reason…..
In DU I can make and break as many ships as I want…… lol
Great to see you guys funded. Really looking forward to trying the environment out - it looks quite awesome. With a background in Second Life and the Traveller SFRPG this could be ideal for me!
Well done JC and the team, starting with a concept then a design, now with the backing you and your team should be very proud of what you have accomplished so far, a great job....I'm glad to help in my small part.
Now looking forward to a new awakening Universe...!!!
Congratulation on your first milestone guys!
Please continue your awesome job at communicating through completion of the features!
Also, more devblogs!
Good luck & high regards to the team.

make sure you have enough money, its not the same amount for instance 425 euros are 466 dollars

What do you mean it's not being accepted because you live in the USA?
If your card isn't being accepted because you're in another country, you can try setting up a VPN that connects to a server in the United States.
I've never had that issue, but I imagine it could be a potential solution... if your bank has that peculiar precaution.
If all else fails, you can call your bank/provider and get it sorted out.

my debit card is not being accepted since i live in the usa. anychance of paying for my pledge with paypal.
