Hi my name is Jane! Hailing from Belfast I studied Fine Art before moving to London to embark upon a degree in Fashion Promotion and Illustration, graduating from the University College for the Creative Arts (UCA).
Since graduating I have been working as a freelance illustrator and storyboard artist in the Advertising, Commercial, Marketing, Fashion and Publishing industries. I have been fortunate to have worked with clients such as Beats by Dre, RSA Films, i-D magazine, Douwe Egberts, The BFI, The National Portrait Gallery, Barbican and The Royal Academy of Arts.
My latest endeavour sketchadayproject.com is the product of a New Year’s resolution I set myself in January 2014, to draw a sketch every day. The project will conclude with my first solo exhibition in Shapes Hackney Wick, London from January 23rd to January 28th 2015.

SKETCH A DAY PROJECT
On the 1st of January 2014 as a New Year’s Resolution I decided to set myself a creative challenge…to draw a sketch a day for 365 days! It has been an ambitious and fun project. I am now into the 11th month and have a collection of Moleskine journals full of mythological creatures, portraits, anatomical sketches, life drawings, fashion sketches and even a Sketch A Day Alphabet!
SKETCH A DAY EXHIBITION
23rd of January - 28th of January 2015
SHAPES, 117 WALLIS ROAD, HACKNEY WICK, E9 5LN
To celebrate the completion of the Sketch A day Project the innovative arts venue, Shapes in Hackney Wick, London will house all 365 individual mounted and framed sketches. To compliment the drawings, in the evenings there will be an eclectic line up of live music from folk and classical to dreamy pop and Spanish guitar!
SKETCH A DAY BOOK
In the beginning of January 2015 I am also going to self-publish an A5 size hardback book of the 365 sketches. The book will resemble my journals as it will be bound in black cloth with the Sketch A Day logo embossed on the front cover.
SKETCH A DAY WORKSHOPS
To coincide with the exhibition I’ll be running drawing workshops for London based secondary schools. With a different theme per day pupils will get the opportunity to work alongside me drawing from costumed life models and creating their own Sketch A Day journal!
By donating to my Kickstarter Campaign you will enable me to fund the main costs of the exhibition. These include mounting & framing of the 365 drawings, shipping, venue hire and set up & display. The donations will also allow me to print the Sketch A Day book.
In return for your generosity you will receive great rewards! Such as the original mounted & framed Sketch A Day drawings, private commissions, the Sketch A Day book, Limited Edition prints, Sketch A Day t-shirts & greeting cards and even the Sketch A Day illustrated alphabet playing cards! You will also have the opportunity to attend an evening figure drawing workshop on the 28th of January 2015.
Every ounce of passion has gone into this project, so much so that I am going to continue the Sketch A Day Project in 2015! I will be moving more into colour and using a wider range of medium, including paint.
Your help will give life to the Sketch A Day Project allowing me to share my drawings with a wider audience!
Thank you again for your support!!

Risks and challenges
My main challenge will be to get enough Kickstarter donations to fund the costs of running an exhibition on this scale.
The second challenge is getting the book published in time for the Exhibition opening as the last sketch will be drawn on the 31st of December. However, the book will be prepared and ready to go to print at the beginning of January and the publisher has given a 2 week turnaround.
The only other challenge is delivering all artwork and products to customers within agreed timescales. However, I have allowed 2-3 months for delivery. I also use Royal Mail recorded delivery for UK and international shipping and have never had any issues in the past. Delivery upon dispatch normally takes 2-3 working days for the UK, 3-5 working days for Europe and up to 7 working days for worldwide delivery.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
