Coming back for another weekend of glory, fellowship, and ultimate gaming! May 29th-31st at the Inn on Lake Superior in Duluth, MN!
Berserkon is Duluth Minnesota's premier gaming convention. Our first two years brought in over 300 badge-carrying guests, and we're looking to make our third year bigger yet!
This year, we're going to be hosting Berserkon at the Inn on Lake Superior - a destination hotel located right in the middle of Canal Park, within a stone's throw of the waterfront.
Room prices range from 149.99 (normally 184.99) for poolview King or Dual Queen suites to 334.00 for a 2-Bedroom Family suite facing the lake.
(Along with their regular conference facilities on display in the map above, we'll also be overrunning their breakfast area after 11am each day).
The list of celebrity guests will include the triumphant return of Scott C Brown, Brian Lewis, and the debut of Conner Marx!
They'll be running a bevy of exciting events to share their favorite games with you; among them, the first ever Upper Midwest Championship for Romance of the Nine Empires; the fantasy card game featured in Gamers 3: The Hands of Fate.
Friday night is the gamer cruise. Saturday night is a grownups-only event, that will see the guys reading excerpts from 50 Shades of Gray in the voices of various cartoon characters and celebrities drawn at random from a hat. Sunday Night will feature a very special screening of Dungeons and Dragons: The Movie, throughout which Brian, Conner, and Scott will add commentary and quips, MST3K style!
A few words from Brian and Conner
The 501st Legion
These defenders of the Empire will be joining us for the third consecutive year, and will be bringing back their Jail and Bail charity event. Slip the right officer five bucks for the local food shelf and they can clap your friends in irons. For charity!
The Gamer Cruise
Join us on the evening of Friday May 29th for an evening of hanging with our celeb guests on majestic Lake Superior. The cruise will include a cash bar and pizza dinner, along with plenty of photo ops and a chance to get some personal time with our special guests.
Super Mario Crossover Race
Our first big foray into the world of video gaming is a retro gem like no other. You'll have a chance to play some of your favorite classic Nintendo characters in a 2-tiered race to the finish line (top 3 advance). The good people of ExplodingRabbit.com have not only given their blessing, but have asked us for footage of the race To that end we'll be recording the performance of our top 3 and uploading them to Youtube for posterity.
Prize support will also be provided by our pals from across the bridge at i play videogames!
Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator
Back by popular demand, Artemis gives you the chance to experience a shift on the bridge of a starship. Defending space stations, investigating distress signals, and coordinating with your friends, all of the visuals will be split between the individual bridge stations and the massive main viewscreen. A high quality sound system and reactive lighting guarantee an experience you'll want to keep coming back for.
SPECIAL NOTE FOR EVENT RUNNERS
All the extras and the greater assembly of geeky brethren make a gaming con stand above one's average weekend of fun and games, but everyone knows the backbone of a convention relies on the games themselves, and those who run them. To that end, we'll be reimbursing our judges, organizers, and gamemasters who run a certain number of hours worth of events. A 1-day badge will be reimbursed for anyone who runs 8 hours of events, and a 3-day badge will be reimbursed for anyone who runs 18 hours of events.
Just our way of saying thanks!
All of this and an upgraded website too? What's not to love!?
See you in May!
Risks and challenges
Our experience has served us well, though there are always new challenges when moving to a new venue. That said, we have a very good relationship with all of the local businesses and out-of-town guests who are involvedLearn about accountability on Kickstarter
