Select your fighter! Round 1! FIGHT!
Welcome to Super Chibi A.C.E., a limited edition game by MidKnight Heroes that pays homage to the old school 2d fighting games of old. You know the ones we're talking about, the games you would stand in line as a kid with your quarter on the machine for next game. The game that you would walk into the arcade and look for what would be a street fight, and with just a dollar run the place. Yeah, that game.
That game, along with others, bring back good memories, where you would just hang out with your friends and master the art of fighting. Well, we want to bring back those memories back and create new ones, with our game, Super Chibi A.C.E.
A.C.E. is a new system that we designed to match as best as we could the experience of playing an old school 2d fighting game but locked in a mortal combat on a board. You use a 54 card deck we call the Control Deck to move your character, perform moves and create combos to defeat your opponent. The first to win two rounds wins the match, just like the old school games.
So, do you have that killer instinct? Yeah, I bet you do. So, grab a friend, hop in the battle arena, it's time for a showdown!
Both players use a single or pair of a 54 card deck [Control Deck] to build special moves or perform combos to knock out your opponent. These cards are not only to use to make moves but also used to move your character across the game board.
Each character will have seven moves that they can perform with the right amount of cards. Each move will have a set amount of damage but the damage can be augmented by the button card or cards you play.
In A.C.E. there are three types of punches and kicks buttons cards, Fast, Normal and Strong and each has their own set of damage that can add to the move depending on what button you play.
Movement or Joystick cards are used to help form the moves together with the button cards. You have four types of Joystick cards, up, down, right and left. Put these cards together with the button cards to make moves the characters can perform.
Wildcards…well they are just what they say they are…wild! These are the most powerful cards in the game and can change the outcome of a game in a hurry. They can replace any button or joystick card plus do other amazing things.
There is allot more to the game including combos, and conditions. What are conditions? Well, they add a special flavor to the moves to help you take out your opponent.
Super Chibi Ace will come with two default characters, Shin the Urban Ninja of Sector 7 and Absolute Valentine, the vigilante of Sector 7. Both will come with designed moves ready for play. Don’t like those characters? That’s ok… CREATE YOUR OWN!
Yep, that’s right. Included in the rule book you will have a set of rules to create your own fighter from miniatures you already own. It could be ANY miniature, it does not matter. It’s all up to you. Get your ideal fighter and make some moves and get ready for action!
All of the characters released by MidKnight Heroes will have designed moves right out of the box but that does not stop you from creating your own moves for them if you like. Our design is just a guideline; feel free to create your own.

Unlocked Characters: Core Characters
Both Shin and Absolute Valentine are considered core characters, meaning the will come with the box set. All other characters in the Kickstarter will be stretch goals.
Shin: Sector 7 Urban Ninja
Shin is the core character of Sector 7 and many stories revolve around him in that world. He is the first hero to stand up for what is right in the sector and because of that, he has inspired many others to follow in his path. Along with inspiring people he has created many enemies as he has been a thorn in their side for awhile now. Shin'spefered method of fighting? His parkour ninja style that he learned watching old school ninja movies on his VHS recorder.
Absolute Valentine is a special character in the Sector 7 world. He is special in the fact that not only was he not born there, or put there for any crime he committed but was transported there from another world. Stuck in Sector 7 now he has taken it upon himself to clean the streets of all the gang's crime. He is a force to be reckoned with and if I were you I would keep my distance.
Absolute Valentine is special to us as he is the first cross-promotional character between MidKnight Heroes and CPOP Productions. A joint venture that we will be exploring more as the range expands. For more on absolute valentine and his back story please check out the 1st edition of novellas from Monolith here. It's an amazing read full of action and adventure.
Included in this Kickstarter, are two new eBooks from MidKnight Heroes and the Monolith: Super Chibi Origins Sector 7 and Super Chibi Clash.
Origins dives into the backstory of the two core characters, Shin and Absolute Valentine, as well as the setting and backdrop for the world of Sector 7. It will feature three stories written by Natakue of Midknight Heroes and Neuicon of theMonolith.
Super Chibi Clash is a new ongoing mini-series, set in the world of Super Chibi Clash and features the hero Shin from Super Chibi Sector 7 as well and a ton of characters that are in the Super Chibi Universe. This series will follow alongside the Kickstarter and give you a small story to go with Super Chibi A.C.E. Those who back the Kickstarter will get the first issue for free with their pledge.
In the core funding, you will also be funding the creation of or first ever mobile app. This app will have the rules for Super Chibi A.C.E. as well as all the special moves for each character in the Super Chibi universe. Also, note that the app will feature the back stories for our characters as well. In the future, we intend to use this app as a medium for all of our current and upcoming games. The App will be published on both Apple and Andriod platforms.
All Stretch Goals in Super Chibi A.C.E. are add-ons. Each add-on can be added to your pledge for an increase of $7 for each stretch goal you want, provided that it's unlocked. Why do it this way? This way allows us to keep the stretch goal funding level very low and expand the character range for the Super Chibi A.C.E. experience while also allowing you to chose who you want to play the game with.
We have stretch goals that we call advanced stretch goals and they are add-ons as well. Advance stretch goals consist of miniatures that Midknight Heroes has already produced and extra card decks.

We will charge shipping after the Kickstarter, based on the actual costs and weight. This will be collected after the campaign ends via our pledge manager.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT INCLUDE ADDITIONAL FUNDS TO COVER YOUR POSTAGE PAYMENT IN YOUR PLEDGE AT THIS TIME.
Any funds collected through the KS system are reduced by 10% when Kickstarter collects their fees; this means that any funds collected to cover postage are 10% less than what is actually needed to cover postage, if the postage rates do not increase at the time of billing and shipping (postal rates have increased on us during our projects at least once prior to fulfillment; in one case, the rates increased twice).
After the campaign ends, backers will be able to select their rewards, via the pledge manager. Shipping costs will be calculated at that time. You will also be able to select additional reward options at that time if you wish.
Postage will be calculated by region when backers make their choices via our pledge management system. All postage fees must be paid before shipment can be completed. Rewards will be posted from the United States to all backer's addresses.

Risks and challenges
Our core development team is made up of artists, writers and game designers. This is the team that first started working on the project and has done most of the work to bring it to you. We realized early in the project that our greatest challenge in bringing our vision to life, would be finding a great sculptor. We have done our research and found the best sculptor for the job. His name, Heriberto Valle Martinez.
A big part of this Kickstarter is to gain the funding to pay for the sculpts and the overall production of the game. We have thoroughly researched the costs associated with sculpting, molding, production and shipping of the miniatures and what it would take to get our game produced. We are confident that we have considered all of the costs that will be associated with this project.
Our biggest challenge will be the time needed to sculpt and produce the miniatures. As the sculptors have to do all of their work after the project funds, the time-frame following the Kickstarter may be longer than we initially wanted. Bear with us, these miniatures will be awesome and well worth the wait. We will keep you informed with regular updates on the progress of the project. We're not going to be idle while the sculptors are doing their work, however. The rest of the team will be busy developing the future line of miniatures and finishing games for future releases.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
