About this project
So who is MidKnight Heroes?
MidKnight Heroes is a new miniature and gaming company that pays homage to the history of gaming, combining different forms of gaming and bringing them together. Our Mission: To create unique miniatures and games that appeal to a broad range of people, combining many elements of the miniature gaming hobby.
And what is Super Chibi?
Super Chibi is a new miniature line from MidKnight Heroes. This line will feature four new and interesting chibi worlds, sharing a combined universe, with all the cuteness and coolness normally associated with chibi. Every "world" in the Super Chibi line will have it's own theme and style, but all will be 100% chibi.
What's in this Kickstarter?
This Kickstarter is to introduce one or more characters from each world in the Super Chibi line. We open up with two already designed and mastered models, Chibi Elvia and Elizabeth. This Kickstarter will cover the expense of taking them from mastered designs to completed molds and figures, as well as provide us with funds to help produce additional designed figures, with an aim towards launching the first of 5 games in the Super Chibi Universe later this year. The worlds that we have planed have settings all over the place from more modern, to Sci Fi, to fantasy, and even mecha, with Super Chibi Clash being the uniting force. We've got it all.
The style of MidKnight Heroes is one that most already know and love. We love anime, and believe that it is a perfect style for all of our settings. We have decided to start off with the cute side of anime and begin with chibi.
With this Kickstarter we will fund the core lineup of starting miniatures, beginning with Elizabeth and a digital art book (Vol1) of characters that will show up in our Super Chibi Universe, as well as a Kickstarter Exclusive Chibi Elvia. Each of our miniatures will be 30mm, and cast in resin. All miniatures in this Kickstarter are intended for play in our Super Chibi games. Our first game "Super Chibi Clash" will be released later this year, giving you the opportunity to have two characters already finished and ready to go! After the Kickstarter our miniature line will be featured in our online store at our website. (www.midknightheroes.com).
About our digital book:
Along with the chibi figures in your pledge, you will receive our first art book in digital format. This will be the first in a long line of art books and as we grow we want to expand the art books with not only our characters, but settings and other items of MidKnight Heroes range.
What comes next after this Kickstarter?
When this campaign is successful, our next project is to finish development and release of the game "Super Chibi Clash." This game will allow you to use these miniatures in small scale battles. Super Chibi Clash will be its own Kickstarter later this year. For more on that look at the special section at the bottom of this page.
Current Goals: Stretch goal #2
Damien Kane, 30mm Resin miniature sculpted by Heriberto Valle Martinez
Damien is out first PURE fantasy miniature and will be included in our Super Chibi Tactics line later on. Damien is the avatar of the dark and, as such has been called "The Dark One", while his twin brother is the avatar of the light and is known as The Bringer of Hope. We will see more about his brother later.
Damien will be 100% playable in the upcoming Super Chibi Clash game due out later this year from MidKnight Heroes.
Stretch Goal #1 FUNDED!
Midknight 30mm Resin miniature sculpted by Heriberto Valle Martinez
MidKnight Final Sculpt 360 *Added 1-30-2016
Core Funding [FUNDED!]
Our Core Characters:
Chibi Elvia is a cross over character from "The Omega Saga", a world that we are designing to be a standard 30mm and up skirmish game, due out at a later date. Elvia has a special place in our heart here at MidKnight Heroes, as she was the first ever character that MidKnight Heroes created. This rendition of Elvia was designed by Natakue and Juan Caruso. This miniature will be 30mm and cast in resin and is sculpted by Heriberto Valle Martinez. While the character will exist in the Super Chibi universe, this specific sculpt will be a Kickstarter exclusive. Art by Janskey.
Elizabeth "Sweetie" is special. She pays homage to a strong and wonderful woman. On Thanksgiving 2015 the owner and CEO of MidKnight Heroes (Natakue) almost lost his wife "Elizabeth" to two brain aneurysms. She was a death's door and fought her way back. This woman is not only the love of his life but the bravest person he knows. In her honor we created a special character in the world of "Super Chibi: Sector 7" to make sure every one know who she is, and just how tough can be. Thus was born Elizabeth "Sweetie." Just like the real world Elizabeth, Super Chibi Elizabeth is a hair dresser. However, in the world of Sector 7 she does hair during the day and fights crime at night as "Sweetie" the vigilante. Armed with scissor swords and a flame thrower hair dryer, she is setting the law, cutting criminals, and coloring the roots of a better tomorrow. She took the name of Sweetie as her crime fighting name in memory of her mother, as "Sweetie" was her mother's per name for Elizabeth growing up.
After the Kickstarter Elizabeth will be a MAJOR character in "Super Chibi: Sector 7" (a future MidKnight Heroes release), as well as a playable character in Super Chibi Clash. She will be 30mm and cast in resin and is sculpted by Heriberto Valle Martinez. Character designed by Natakue and art by Janskey
Digital Art Book VOL1: Super Chibi Characters Part 1
In addition to the figures, your $30 pledge you will include our first art book in digital format. The idea behind this book is to show off our characters and worlds, as well as to give you and your kids some fun time together. What do we mean by that? Aside of the cover, all the pages will be black and white. You can print them off and color them with your kids, or use them in Photoshop or any other program to test paint schemes. Not only will it give you some fun time with your children, but it will also explain each character and the world the live in. We plan on doing A LOT of these types of books, and one day to even make them in printed form. VOL1 will include all the characters in this Kickstarter, plus some others in the upcoming Kickstarter for "Super Chibi Clash". We plan to make one Digital Art Book Volume for each of our Kickstarter projects. As a backer of Super Chibi Kickstarter, your name will also appear in a special "Thank you" section of the book! Impress your kids by having them see your name in print!
And now, for a something little extra,
SUPER CHIBI CLASH:
Let's talk a little about "Super Chibi Clash" due out later this year. Super Chibi Clash will be the first game of 5 that will be made in the Super Chibi Universe. The interesting thing about Super Chibi Clash is that it will bring all the "Super Chibi" worlds together into one game. While the other four games will focus on their own unique world, Super Chibi Clash will combine elements of them all. It pays homage to the old 2d fighting games of old that we and many other older gamers grew up loving and have been inspired by. Our goal was to replicate the experience you had at the old arcade, and translate that to a tabletop experience. All the miniatures in this Kickstarter, plus many others, will be able to be played in the game- as well as ANY chibi miniature you currently own! Yes that's right, you will be able to create your own fighters as well! Sweet, right?
Any funds received in this Kickstarter above and beyond what is necessary for producing the miniatures that are unlocked will go straight into the production of the game. This will help keep that Kickstarter's funding needs lower. By backing this Kickstarter not only are you receiving two (or more!) great chibi models at a reasonable price, but you will also be paying it forward into helping to create the game they, and the rest of your collection, can be used in. You can find out more about Super Chibi Clash on our site www.midknightheroes.com

Shipping: Please Read!
This is a very touchy subject and we know it. Shipping is very expensive these days and there is no way around it. The main problem is international shipping, rates have increased all over the board and it’s very hard to “eat” those costs and still be able to deliver a quality product. We have spent hours trying to figure a better way to do this but the only solution we could come up with is charging after the fact. So what that means is, after the Kickstarter when we are ready to ship the product we will send an instant message/and or email to you with your postage. Once postage is paid we will then ship the product to you. I know this is not a popular method to ship, but at this time it’s the only way we can do it. Now the good news is since we are only selling miniatures at this time and there is a small amount, the postage should not be too high for international shipping. We thank you for understanding. Natakue and the MidKnight Heroes team.
Risks and challenges
Our core development team is artists, writers, and game designers. This is the team that first started working on the project and has done most of the work to bring it to you. We realized early in the project that our biggest initial challenge in bringing our vision to life would be finding a great sculptor. We have done our research and found a few excellent sculptors to work on this project.
A big part of this Kickstarter is to gain the funding to pay for the sculpts and production of the miniatures. We have thoroughly researched the costs associated with sculpting, molding, production, and shipping of the first set of miniatures. We are confident that we have considered all of the costs that will be associated with this project.
Our biggest challenge will be the time needed to sculpt and produce the miniatures. As the sculptors have to do all of their work after the project funds, the time frame following the Kickstarter may be longer than we initially wanted. Bear with us, these miniatures will be awesome and well worth the wait. Plus, we will keep you informed with regular updates on the progress of the project. We're not going to be idle while the sculptors are doing their work, however. The rest of the team will be busy developing the future line of miniatures and finishing games for future releases.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
