@Andrew - Order number is not taken into account for backers. We will ship to backers based on backer number (please note: the first containers will be for the US).

Hi Virtuix, I did some measuring and I should be able to get it in the door sideways so all good. Quick question. Will the shipping work by order # on the account page? so #47xx would ship early next year? Thanks!

Hi Andrew, how do you get a sofa, fridge, or other big piece of furniture delivered? Does your building have a freight elevator? Please let us know how we can help.

      Best regards,
      Jan

My NYC doorman is going to loose it when this shows up. Can't wait to be breaking this box down in the middle of the street.

Hi all, we will investigate the possibility for pick-up events in the next few weeks but we may need to limit these for reasons of cost and manpower. Minoru, the box is quite large and heavy (123cm x 110cm x 77cm; 100kg) and is unlikely to fit through a regular door. If no freight access is available, it's easiest to just take the Omni parts out of the box and carry inside. Best regards, Jan.

Just pondering - How wide is the box ? Would it be okay to turn box sideways if it does not fit through the door ?

Me and a friend were also planning on doing the pickup event for ours. Please tell us if this is still the plan and more details about where they are happening.
Hoping for Baltimore or DC personally.

I received my Omni as a pathfinder and I can tell you that having seen the gigantic box and felt the sheer weight of the device myself, Jan offering shipping at the prices promised in the kickstarter is an absolute steal.

Good luck guys! I look forward to there being more Omnis out in the wild!

I'm also curious if there will still be pickup events as I was planning and anticipating that up here in Boston. Also if that is still planned is that going to result in a later arrival of my omni?

Is there still plans for pick up events or is it straight shipping now? I was originally betting on picking it up in houston/Austin or Denver, if you did a event there.

Hi Matthew, yes, sorry about this hassle. Back then, we were not able to charge for shipping for different regions, so we had to leave shipping out of our Kickstarter rewards and explain that we'd charge later. Also, during our Kickstarter campaign we grossly underestimated our shipping costs. However, for our Kickstarter backers we will stick to the shipping cost that we communicated and eat the overage ourselves (close to 100% in some cases). Hurts, but we appreciate the patience of all our backers and wouldn't be here without you. Best regards, Jan.

Yes I think Kickstarter has evolved in the last few years - now it's common for every Kickstarter to ask you to select your country and adds the appropriate shipping to your pledge amount there and then. At the time of the Omni's campaign I'm not sure you were able to do that - shipping estimates per region were mentioned in the body of the campaign text instead.

My bad, sorry for being rude. I checked the campaign, and it did mention shipping costs... it was just very surprising. I don't think I've bought anything else on Kickstarter that required separate shipping payment.

Whoa. Before I rant, please know that I've been one of the patient few. I've held on, because as a developer and businessperson, I know there can be setbacks in product development.

However, I have a huge, HUGE issue with you with this. After over three years of waiting, numerous setbacks, endless production updates saying nothing more than "we're still not done," and "please invest more money in us," you're going to charge me for shipping? This feels dishonest, to say the least.
