@Andrew: Yes and no. Technically the footplate is detachable, but they cannot recommend it. The same applies to the strut bases. They are a part of the structure and it would be like removing a load-bearing wall from a house.
@Matthew van Andel: I'm sure they appreciate the offer, and would like to have done that, but I guess it's not a good business practice to reveal schematics too far ahead of release. We're already seeing other companies attempting to copy the Omni's design. That said, feel free to email them your suggestions (as I do).
@Jonathan, Jerome: Thanks guys, I happen to know they find comments like these really encouraging :)

You likely would have gotten this sort of valuable feedback a long time ago if you hadn't spent months in a vacuum, being secretive with your backers. Keeping us in the dark and constantly delaying the product is not a good way to instill confidence.

Please take as long as you need to get things right, but stop keeping us in the dark. Your backers are here to help. We invested because we think this is a great concept and we want it to work. If you cut us out of the picture, we can't offer advice or feedback, we lose confidence, and everyone suffers.

I'm just asking for some transparency and quality two-way communication here.

Can you confirm the step-up deck can be left off when assembling? (small NYC apartment)

As the Rift has yet to even begin speculating on a ship date, I'm fine to wait as long as you need. Keep up the good work!

Great ! Hope last design adjustment will not delay too much the shipment.. Good luck for your work !
