STAGE ONE

The plain truth is sports drinks need to do more than provide salt and glucose if you want to minimize recovery time from a workout. During exercise the consumption of electrolytes is accelerated, depleting your body’s reserve of sugars and salts, which are the primary ingredients in sports drinks. In addition, you are also burning amino acids, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals which are key building blocks that support your metabolism. You must consume nutrients, as well as sugars and salts, during or after exertion to fully recuperate. Your body does not regenerate them on its own!

We believe our new drinks help secure that winning edge and will be enthusiastically received by athletes at all levels. 2MAC drinks are a quick and delicious way to infuse your body with energy, regardless of your level of physical activity!

WHAT MAKES IT SO GOOD

At 2MAC we use only natural ingredients. We have created a blend of powders that can be mixed with water or milk (depending on our drink product) to create a super charged beverage which can be consumed cold or hot. Coconut milk, coconut water, glucose, whey, coffee (source of antioxidants in three of our drinks), chocolate, and powdered milk are combined to produce terrific tasting drinks with great recovery benefits. There are no artificial additives, no chemicals, and no GMO’s.

Coconut Milk - contains water soluble fats that are available as energy soon after consumption.

Coconut Water - loaded with potassium and sodium for electrolyte replacement and simple sugars to replace body glucose.

Cocoa - rich source of magnesium which helps produce energy and flavanoids that function as inflamation fighting antioxidents.

We are asking for your help in a final taste test to confirm which drink formulas will be introduced to the marketplace. Although we have conducted hundreds of taste tests to guide product development, we need more to validate our target markets. After reading our rewards program you will see that each one of you can give us an assist with the testing program. Stage One - Use funding from Kickstarter campaign to complete the testing program and pay for the Kickstarter pledge expenses. Once we have verified our “go to market” demographic goals through your assistance on our taste testing team, we will start on stage two.

    SUMMARY:  STAGE TWO OPERATING PLAN
    PRODUCTION
    2MAC drink mixes will be manufactured by a third party contractor that specializes in blending and packaging as an out source company. Their protocols will strictly mirror our quality standards and formulas. All processing will be done in a clean room environment that is in compliance with Food and Drug Administration regulations. Finished product will be stored on-site for order fulfillment. The contractor has the capability to scale up production as demand increases.

COMMUNICATIONS

2MAC's website will feature our products prominently and dynamically. They will be supported with a library of links connecting you with valuable content on health and wellness issues. The site will have an integrated front and back office capability with an easy to use shopping cart.

SALES and MARKETING

Our marketing plan relies exclusively on internet sales to launch 2MAC products. Although the exposure gained from bricks and mortar retail shelving is an attractive merchandising option, the slotting fees charged by the grocery stores are cost/benefit negative for a small start-up. As a result it is best not to pursue this option until our brand is well recognized.

Our products ship economically via USPS because there is no water weight (our drinks are powders the user hydrates) and no short shelf-life constraint. These are important preconditions for a strong internet sales campaign in the food and beverage business and we need to leverage them. The long term plan will be to migrate to a marketing program that combines internet sales with a storefront initiative once our company can financially support both. 

We will reach out to potential customers using social media, a samples campaign, systematic press releases and a highly targeted ad program. As with any new beverage the big hurdle is getting a potential customer to taste it. We are counting on your referrals, backed up by a free samples initiative to generate the demand for 2MAC's drinks and we will use the broad reach of today's internet to drive that program.

 

As team leader, Mike has over thirty years of executive level experience in the food business to utilize in guiding this project through a successful launch and to shape 2MAC into a dynamic company. We know the business - what we need is you!

Risks and challenges

The most difficult challenge with introducing a new beverage is getting the taste profile adjusted so it appeals to your target audience. We have spent considerable time and resources working through focus groups with the goal of creating a delicious and nutritious drink that results in repeat customers. We are counting on our pledge team to be effective taste evaluators before we go to market. Any tweaking to our recipes will be done after our donor panel has made its recommendations.

In addition to the taste profiling challenge, 2MAC, with its natural and chemical free approach to developing our formulas, is trying to expand consumer expectations for what a sports drink should accomplish. Linking the necessity for nutrient intake with water consumption contradicts decades of sports drink history which has been narrowly focused on rehydration only. The challenge of expanding those expectations to include nutrient intake is not inconsiderable among sports drink users.
