Neil DeGrasse Tyson & Seth MacFarlane

A science luminary and an entertainment heavyweight.  And we want them both in Axanar.  Seth MacFarlane has already been in Enterprise and we want him to be one of the captains at the Battle of Axanar.  Neil deGrasse Tyson loves Trek and we want him to be the Federation President at the peace conference.

And YOU can help by Tweeting to them!  Please send them a Tweet and let them know how much you would like to see them in Axanar.  Link to our You Tube of Prelude to AXanar:

I'd welcome both Neil and Seth to participate. (And frankly I'd love to see Rosario Dawson onboard, if it were possible.)

Leveraging social media is a fantastic idea. The production team is making a smart business (and potentially marketing) move by suggesting Twitter/social media engagement such as this.

I'm supportive. Keep up the excellent work, Alec and Co.!

And CONGRATULATIONS on the successful Kickstarter!

George Takei just reshared your kickstarter video on Facebook, as him to be in it.

Come on fellas. Having famous people who are a Star Trek fans make a cameo will just take the viewer out of the story. Its a nice idea, but I pledged to support the production of a serious film. Having cameos kinda smacks of a fanboy flick.

I think we should leave it to the producer to contact these actors. If there on board and willing, they will come. If not, thats there choice. Spaming there twitter feeds could end very badly.

Also the twitter flooding of celebrities does backfire as pointed out blow. SciFi writers are getting pestered by the scavenger hunt people who have not been kind with their demands.

I'm pretty excited about the project but would prefer that the broader public hear about it for being great rather than pestiferous. :)

I think the two of them are too well-known and would be out of place without makeup. Hatch I didn't even recognize, he disappeared in the role. The makeup helped. I like Weird Al but if he appeared in character as himself it would be jarring. Stan Lee cameos are part of the charm of a marvel movie and somehow don't break immersion but they are also played for laughs.

unless you have already talked about it and more or less got it down as confirmed, I also don't think asking people to mass post people on twitter is such a good idea either.

Unless they have both expressed interest in appearing in this, this sound like a very bad idea to me. Getting spammed on Twitter is not the best way to endear someone to a project.

It's generally poor practice to recommend your kickstarter folks to swarm people on Twitter :(

Here's a vote for Rosario Dawson, and for any other female characters, which are sorely missed in this (otherwise awesome) project. And hey, why not try Felicia Day, too? And Lindsay Wagner, who was almost Capt. Janeway way back then, and who would bring gravitas to her role.

I joined just to share with Rosario Dawson as I know she wants a Star Trek role more then anything and if your asking us to annoy these two, I would love her to annoy you for a role instead

While I think it's a great idea to contact them, I do agree with Scott to approach these requests with class and professionalism. These are professionals. Please approach them as professionals. We have a chance to make something great here - let's do so with the dignity that befits wearing the uniform of the ARES.

That's amazing! I would think that since you are telling us that you've already discussed it with Seth and NDT. Very exciting prospect and great for Axanar.

While, I'd love for them to be a part of this project, this honestly sounds like a bad idea. Flooding them with requests may turn them off of the project. I've heard of other projects trying something like this and backfiring. Please thinking carefully.

And anyone thinking of contacting these people, please be respectful in your request.
