We wanted to update you with our current situation. We have about 23 hours left and still need to raise $30K. Unfortunately, unless Moradin drops by we probably won't hit our goal.
That being said, our dwarven hearts are too stubborn to give up. This is our first Kickstarter campaign and we have listened to all the feedback, criticism and support from our backers.
This is what we're going to do:
We plan on relaunching Iron & Ale at a much lower goal to get the game made. To do this we have to cut costs. We've decided to cut the Meadhall Card art (only) to drastically lower art costs, and make that a stretch goal. We are also cutting out any profit the Kickstarter campaign would have made. Lastly, we're going to restructure the Kickstarter goal to reflect an order of half the units we were originally planning on purchasing.
Changes from Community Feedback:
A lot of people messaged us saying they'd like to see more rewards. Originally we thought people would like to have simpler options, but based off the feedback we found out this isn't true. So more rewards are coming!
EPIC CARD ART!
We have already started working on changing the card art. This is especially important to us since we are removing the illustrations from the Meadhall Cards. The original sketches look awesome. Our artist is awesome.
We plan on making the things we've cut out stretch goals. There is still the possibility for Meadhall Illustrations, but we'll make them stretch goals for the next campaign.
Please message us with any suggestions! We want to make this game a success and get it in your hands. We hope to have the campaign back up in 2-3 weeks. If you backed Iron and Ale already, we need your pledge again to show how much support it has. We will message all of you when the project relaunches!
