My name is Mark Mcall, and I love Seattle. Since moving here as a teenager, I have tried to immerse myself in the city and it's culture. I've lived in a dozen neighborhoods, volunteered and worked all over the city. Like you, I have stood in the rain waiting for the 48 Metro. I have done Karaoke in Chinatown. I have stumbled into Beths at 2am. I have Duck Dodged in Lake Union and watched the sunset on Alki.
In 2008 some friends and I started making a video series called "That Seattle Show." We would explore aspects of the city we had never been to. It was while doing this we made a bet: 100 Bars in 100 Days.
The experience left me with an appreciation for trying new things, and thirsty to learn about other bars across the Emerald City. So after Bar #100 (Kangaroo & Kiwi) I decided to go to every bar in Seattle! Since then, I've been to over 350 ale houses / cafes / taverns / speak-easy's / breweries ect ect. People would constantly ask me for recommendations, and ideas for new places. So finally, I decided to just pool all my knowledge into one convenient guidebook!
I've been also been doing tongue-in-cheek interviews with bar staffs, and am starting to host "Hidden Happy Hours" for both Seattleites and out-of-towners alike.
I've already begun writing the book, and just need the funds to publish and distribute. Thank you so much for reading, and I promise you an interesting, funny, and useful guidebook for this city!
ps- the song in the video is by Clive Tanaka y Su Orquesta. If you like it, please check them out online!
