HighVisFest is the result of a group of friends who wanted to see Birmingham live up to its potential to be one of the greatest cities in the UK when it comes to supporting street and community arts. But then, the best plans are normally hatched over a pint or two. Or was it more?
But, in the sobering light of day we realised we were onto something special. And we want to share it with the whole of Brum.
We would love to see you support this one day, family-friendly event, by being there on September 8th but also, and if possible, to support us - all volunteers - in the running costs of putting on a day like no other.
Situated at The Custard Factory in Digbeth, we want the whole of Birmingham to get involved, from graffiti fans to geeks and everything in-between as we curate a mix of street art, dance, good food, good beats and comics across the course of the day and night. We honestly believe this is a festival like no other bringing together areas of the arts not normally showcasing their talents under the same roof.
With support from The Custard Factory we hope to not only put on this one day festival for one and all, and for free, but build on this year's plans and come together again each and every year to celebrate the brightest, best and the up-and-coming talent of this great city.
Come join us, why don't you, any way you can!
See you all on September 8th!
Risks and challenges
Thankfully, with a vast indoor market area gifted to us for the day, even if it rains, there'll be plenty to do from street dancing, art workshops and rap battles.
It's a project we are squeezing together in just a few week, but with your hep, we know we can pull it off. Artists are already locked down so it really is only the running cost on the day we now need to cover with support from you all. which I'd like to thank you for in advance.
