Compact, functional and always with a smile - LoLo the modular micro-kitchen. Designed by Russian designers Tatyana and Mikhail Repin. LoLo may be used as a small kitchen alternative in office spaces, hostels or even at home. The micro-kitchen saves space and offers a fresh and positively charged solution to keeping your kitchen utensils and appliances in a confined environment. LoLo consists of 4 separate modules made of natural birch plywood. There are modules for your microwave, kettle, water cooler and coffeemaker. Each module is designed to be sold separately – modules may be arranged, as you desire, the range of combinations is endless. Just have fun!
The modules come without the kitchen appliances – just in case you were wondering.
When you don’t have enough space for a kitchen or you simply don’t need a fully functioning kitchen but need a place for your kettle and a few cups – you begin to encounter problems:
- Where can I conveniently store a few cups and plates?
- Where may I put my kettle or compact microwave?
- My office is cluttered with useless kitchen utensils!
- I can’t find the right furniture to store a few basic kitchen utensils!
- Compact kitchen furniture is either too expensive or cheap and ugly!
The coffeemaker module accommodates most coffeemakers and has 5 special freely adjustable hangers for your cups. It stores up to 14-16 tea or coffee cups depending on their size and shape.
The microwave module accommodates most compact microwave ovens. It has 2 functional storage drawers at the bottom for your kitchen utensils and an upper shelf for storing up to 12-18 plates.
The kettle module is used to keep your kettle as well as being used as a small flat working area. The module has two big drawers, so you will definitely have enough space to keep your tea or coffee, maybe even your secret stash of chocolate…
We bet you don’t really think your office water cooler is much fun? The LoLo water cooler module accommodates a regular office desktop water cooler and provides a bit of extra space for storage with 2 drawers at the bottom.

The LoLo micro-kitchen was started as a final year design project by Tanya Repina at the Stroganov Moscow State University of Art and Industry. Tanya was then assisted by her husband Misha Repin in developing the final design.
LoLo was born out of pure necessity and originally only planned to be used in offices. The concept stayed away from stereotypical office aesthetics and concentrated on being an emotional and inspiring piece of furniture. After all, LoLo was inspired by penguins and fairytales. As a result the LoLo concept went beyond the office and may be used at home just as well.
The LoLo micro-kitchen has gone through numerous stages of development and refinement. Starting from sketches and evolving into technical drawings and CAD models. Numerous prototypes were made and test production batches successfully sold.
Size matters! Even with the LoLo micro-kitchen.
We have used real market feedback to perfect the LoLo design. To prove this we have taken the LoLo micro-kitchen to the international “imm furniture fair” in Cologne, Germany. Once again LoLo proved itself, attracting tons of attention from international clients.
The first LoLo prototypes were presented at “HOMI” in Milano, Italy. International exposure helped us make essential decisions regarding our strategy in developing this project.
To date we have refined and finished developing the LoLo micro-kitchen as a product. We have all our technical drawings, CAD models, real prototypes and test production batches. At the moment LoLo is completely hand made using basic tools and a lot of labor hours. Our warehouse capabilities don’t allow us to properly store the LoLo and in sufficient quantities.
We need your help to invest into proper production tooling and reduce labor hours during the production process. This will allow us to start producing the LoLo micro-kitchen much faster and in larger batches. We are simply not coping with the interest and orders which we are starting to get worldwide. Our warehouse facilities need to be expanded and adapted for handling LoLo’s in sufficient quantities. This is why your support is vital to take the LoLo micro-kitchen one giant step further.
We are a start-up from Moscow, Russia called “LLLOOCH”. Translated from Russian – it means a ‘ray’ or a ‘beam of light’. Over the past 4 years, we have been exploring new talented product designers in Russia, collaborating with them and producing unique interior items.
One year ago, “LLLOOCH STORE” opened in Berlin, Germany. The store is an attempt to present new products by young Russian designers outside Russia.
Our Art Director Leonid Lozbenko is the man behind the whole idea. He is a product designer, a graduate of Central Saint Martin’s College of Art & Design London, UK. His life ambition is to find and produce products by talented Russian designers.
Risks and challenges
Despite all our efforts to get the product ready on schedule – delays are possible due to a number of factors: material supply delays, poor material quality, manufacturing machinery issues, end-quality check fails, logistics delays.
We will do our best to inform you of any issues which may arise during production and shipping. Thank you for your understanding!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
