Payam Feili's collection of love poetry "White Field" is banned in Iran. Find out why and pledge to give him a voice. Read more
This project's funding goal was not reached on January 2, 2014.
About this project
He has more than 10 unpublished books of love poetry. They're not sitting on the shelf gathering dust because the poems are bad, it's because the Iranian government refuses to give him permission to publish any of them.
His only dream is for the world to hear his voice, and we can make that happen!
Payam wrote the speech himself. He wanted to record it, but his mental health took a turn for the worse and he was hospitalised just prior to the launch date. We spent a day outside the British Library in London recording the voices of generous passersby who were inspired by his incredible resilience.
ABOUT PAYAM FEILI
Payam’s words are banned by the Iranian authorities. His poems are banned in Iran because he is gay. With no regard for content or style, the censors have completely blacklisted his works.
Payam Feili was born in 1985 in Kermanshah, a city in western Iran. His first book, The Sun’s Platform, was published in Iran when he was nineteen. The book was heavily censored by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. Subsequent works never emerged from the ministry with a seal of approval.
Well aware of the potential danger it posed, Payam started to publish his books outside Iran. He has a dozen collections of poetry that haven't yet seen the light of day.
Help us to get Payam's voice to the world. Your pledge will help Nogaam translate his book "White Field" into English so his voice can be freed from censorship and discrimination.

Risks and challenges
Nogaam is a London-based publisher that has been publishing banned Persian literature for audiences in Iran. It has built a rich network of Iranian writers, poets, critics and readers and now it is taking a new step to approach a new audience in non-Iranian sphere.
The risks have already been taken by our authors, and we see this Kickstarter project as an opportunity to help them overcome the challenges they face in their day-to-day lives.
Nogaam reserves all the rights for the books it publishes and have all the necessary requirements ready to translate and publish this book "White Fields" once it is successfully funded.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
