I want to tell a story that's a little different from what I normally see in traditional films. Normally, there's always a clear cut definition of who or what is good or bad. I want to blur those lines a little bit with this project.
Although I wrote the basic premise for Mother about 15 years ago, I began working on it officially in January of 2012. I'm currently in the phase of asset development and will be moving to gather support for voice acting and music, as well picking up some support for the bulk of the animation.
With your donations, the first thing that I have planned is to get voice actors on board. I already have a few who are willing to work with me who have experience recording voices for other companies and a few people who have done recordings for game modding communities. That process will begin in mid-October and will be complete by December at the latest.
I've also been in talks with a few local musicians and producers that are willing to contribute to the soundtrack, so between sessions with voice acting, I'll be conferring with them to get the right feel for this project.
Lastly, I will be recruiting animators from Mohawk Valley Community College. It's the school that I went to, and there is a lot of quality work being done there. Even though I'll be starting animation myself this fall, I'll be bringing in others to work with me starting next January.
If I am fortunate enough to be over-funded, I will be able to bring in more and more artists from around the area and hopefully be able to bring this project to various arts and film festivals as well as make a earlier release date. Maybe into the Spring of 2013.
All in all, with your support, this project will be ready to go by Summer 2013. Be sure to check out the rewards section to see what I'll be offering in return for your support, as well as the official facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/MotherMovie . Thanks for your support, and I hope that I'll get the opportunity to show you what I can do.
