UPDATE: New Trailer! We have a new trailer we're excited to share with you that includes more footage that will be included in the final film! The trailer will give you a great idea of the final product and includes more dialogue, action sequences, and in-depth glances at Red Creek.
We would just like to thank all of you for helping us reach our goal so quickly. It means a lot to all of us to have your enthusiastic support!
Due to all of the positive feedback that our film has received, we have decided to try to rent space in a local commercial theater in order to share our work with the local community and accumulate a wider audience. In order to do this, we will have to raise a bit more money than our initial goal. We would like to encourage all of our generous donors and supporters to please help us spread the word about this project in order to make this a possibility. You have already done so much to help, but it would be greatly appreciated if you could tell your friends about our film or even just share a link to our kickstarter page on your Facebook, twitter, or blog.
Thank you so much for your continued support of this project! Everyone here is so grateful for your contributions!
Red Creek is a western short film set in the 1800s about vengeance and judgment as a Sheriff and deputy come across a ruthless and brutal outlaw. The film is in post- production currently, and we are working very hard on finishing the film.
Who We Are:
This film comes from students who came together to create a group called Movie Camera Militia. This group is DIY, and is completely student run, with only the resources at hand, and the will to create great stories. We work together to make these films in the hopes that we can get it out and into the world as much as possible. We come from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. This group was created with the purpose to make quality films, and better ourselves as artists and communicate a great story to the world. We all have stories, it is the story that defines us, and what we do with this story that can serve a better purpose. Our outlook is to bring these stories through film to you in a professional and artistic way.
How You Can Help Our Vision:
Our vision is nearly complete. We produced the film as much as we could on our own, but now we are at the point to where we could use your help. The goal amount of money will be put towards DVD packaging, posters, artwork, and most importantly, the film festival submissions. The biggest thing for young film-makers is to get your film seen, and the best way to do that, is to submit to film festivals. We want to submit to ten different film festivals in many varieties. With each festival submission, comes a price. Each festival is an average of $45-$55 to submit. We want to enter some great festivals that are very prestigious and honorable. Some of these include; South by Southwest film festival, Austin film festival, Chicago Reels Shorts festival, San Francisco independent film festival, Sundance Film festival and more. We have chosen these festivals based on their reputations and the great films that have been chosen for them. We want to best represent ourselves and the hard work we put into this great film in these festivals. Your money will propel this project further than it can go on its own. We want our vision of hard working students who love to create art represented in these festivals. In a world of Hollywood and money, we want to bring fresh perspectives of film-making into these festivals. If you like our vision, and really care about what we are doing, we would greatly appreciate your support and help!
Thank You!Thank you very much for your interest and our vision. We hope we can bring you something exciting and great with this film. Words cannot describe the help you are providing us! We love you and are so blessed for having your support. Please ask us any questions you need.
