Thanks! Progress! And Rewards!

I am delighted to write to you to let you know the exciting developments that have taken place over the past several weeks. As I'm sure you know, the project was successfully funded on September 5th. Twenty-five people generously contributed to the funding, with the result that the project exceeded its goal by thirty dollars. My deepest thanks to each of you -- to the many friends, family members, colleagues, and strangers who considered this project worth your investment.

I recorded the CD at Joseph Patrych's studio in New York over a three-day period. The unedited sessions consist of approximately two hundred minutes of music. Most items on the program were covered in two or three takes, with patchwork takes for the most difficult sections of the recording. Over the past several weeks I have created an edit plan -- marking the scores to indicate which takes should be used where and where splicing should occur. Earlier this week I send paper and electronic copies of the edit plan to Joe.

Over the next several weeks I will be contacting those of you whose contact information I do not have so I can begin distributing rewards. Some of you will receive links to download unedited, live performances of portions of the CD program. Some of you will receive autographed CDs when they are released. Some of you will even be directly acknowledged in the CD liner notes. All of you receive my most sincere gratitude.

I look forward to communicating further as this project continues to take shape!
