What's all this now?

Trigger warning: Excessive use of the word "podcast."
We love podcasts. Seriously. We can’t believe there was a time when podcasts didn’t exist, and we were forced to listen to boring old music on our commutes, while doing dishes, or breaking a sweat on the elliptical. And we are not alone! The podcast industry is booming, and audiences are growing exponentially. Podcasts are becoming as culturally important as TV, newspapers, and Kylie Jenner’s Instagram feed. There's a podcast out there for everyone, but nearly all of the networks that host, develop, and promote your favorite shows are run by men. Are we going to let this beautiful medium that will shape culture for generations to come go the way of literally everything else, and become a boys club? Hell. No. That’s why we are creating EARIOS: A podcast network run by women. For everyone. No creeps allowed.
This is a great idea, right? We agree! OK, cool. Back to bed? Not so fast. We can’t do this alone. We are asking for your support in getting this vital network off the ground! Your funding will help us cover the overhead for putting into development an amazing slate of female-driven podcasts that will knock your ruffled socks off! Seriously, be a part of this! It's going to be UNREAL. (Can you tell we’ve been power-posing?)

What projects are you funding?
We can't go into detail on the specific projects we are developing because we know Hollywood is filled with copycats, and we don't want to give ideas away! However, we have been in conversations with some of your favorite (and soon-to-be favorite) talent for our first slate of shows. We will be making podcasts that are funny, smart, off-kilter, and inclusive. Gabbing about hair and makeup? Fine! But we also welcome literary salons, true crime, culture vultures, serialized fiction, philosophical discussions, and maybe even a car show...if we can find a lady who wants to host one.

Where will the money go?
Our goal is to provide overhead for 6-8 podcasts on our first slate. The basic expenses involved are studio time, art, production, and hosting. We are very excited to bring on a team of female producers and audio engineers. Eventually, we'd love to have Earios HQ where people ride around on unicycles, there's Matcha on tap, and an in-house masseuse, but for now we are just trying to raise enough funds to get this operation off the ground.

But who gave you permission?
Amanda Lund and Maria Blasucci are both writers and actors from Los Angeles, California who have been podcasting since 2008. They met studying theatre at LMU, and dreamed of being big stars. But when Mr. Hollywood never called, they decided to take matters into their own hands, and start writing and making their own videos.
They love the creative freedom of podcasting and have had several shows over the years including, Trading Movies, The Big Ones, and The Complete Woman. They record out of Amanda's home studio, which she shares with her husband and podcast hero, Matt Gourley (Superego, James Bonding, Pistol Shrimps Radio). Podcasting is the family business, and rest assured that their giant cat Margaux will soon have her own podcast on Earios.

Amanda and Maria had dreams to start a female-run network but they knew that they had zero business sense, and would never be able to do it on their own. They turned to their friend and greatest/only champion, Priyanka Mattoo, to help them. Priyanka now writes and directs, but was formerly a comedy agent at UTA and WME, where she worked with established talent such as Jack Black (with whom she eventually launched a TV production company), Amy Poehler, and Jason Segel, as well as signing fresh faces like Ellie Kemper, Kumail Nanjiani, and Jenny Slate. Pri also went to law school, aka "is smart." This is a roundabout way of saying she has an unparalleled eye for emerging talent, and there is an endless bench of eminent artists and executives who trust and respect Pri's ability to get things done. Together, they are the right women for the job!

リスクと課題
We are so excited to get Earios off the ground. We know starting a podcast network isn't going to be easy, but your support is going to make all the difference. We have attempted to limit the number of physical rewards so we don't spend all our time shipping out merchandise when we could be developing shows. And we know that special access to our shows and community is better than an Earios coffee cup, anyway. Actually, a coffee cup would be super cute!
