We are students who want to voice opinions that may otherwise go unheard by creating a new publication for our community.
UPDATE: We switched publishers to bring you a better magazine this Fall, so we had to re-due our Kickstarter! Please use our new Kickstarter page here: spoiledminds.com/kickstarter
Spoiled Minds is a magazine made for you by you.
Most magazine publications have articles created entirely by their staff. At Spoiled Minds all of our articles are created by our readers. What students submit to Spoiled Minds is only limited by their imagination. Currently our contributors' submissions are featured only on our website, www.SpoiledMinds.com. These articles cover everything from fashion to famine. Every academic quarter (or 3 months), our team goes through an extensive selection process to pick articles from the website. The articles we pick will be featured in our first print magazine for our subscribers to read. The Spoiled Minds magazine will be sent out first to our Kickstarter supporters and will later be distributed in several locations. This gives students a voice and it helps students have the opportunity to be published. Our open source, user generated method of getting great content for our magazine is what separates Spoiled Minds from other magazine publications.
We need your help!
Our contributors and Spoiled Minds Team have been working tirelessly to give the students a voice and to provide the best content for our readers. We have incorporated talent and knowledge from literally every major and department on the UCR campus to create our publication. We need your help to take Spoiled Minds to the next level! The support you give through our Kickstarter campaign will allow us to launch the first print issue of Spoiled Minds. Your support will cover all the costs associated with the initial printing as well as setting up magazine stands and other distribution channels for the magazine. Help give students a voice this spring and also get your hands on some awesome Kickstarter-only Spoiled Minds rewards!
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Publishing and distribution are areas in which possible risks and challenges will occur.
Once the document is sent to the publisher it is out of our hands. If problems occur on the publishing end for whatever reason the project will be delayed. Although such delays are often out of the hands of the publisher we have done our best to eliminate the chances of such errors by choosing a publisher we trust. We have an ongoing conversation with the publisher regarding publishing requirements, document setup, and turn around time to assure that the chances of such delays happening are as minimal as possible.
After the magazine shipment arrives the challenge will be to distribute them all in a timely and organized fashion. In order to tackle this challenge we have put in place a dedicated distribution team that will be responsible of all product shipment. We also have dedicated a team to customer service in order to assure that any questions regarding order status will be answered in a timely fashion and any delays that occur will be transparent to our customers.
