What is Bodoki?
Bodoki is a reversible bamboo cutting board that drains and contains excess liquid while you're chopping, slicing, and dicing. Bodoki flips over to eliminate cross contamination of meats and veggies and has a food-grade sealed basin to catch all of the spills, drips, and mess that one might have with a regular cutting board. Made from a sustainable resource, Bodoki is the ultimate cutting board.
Simple and Effective
Most people don't look at a cutting board and think, "Cutting board! how come you're not as functional as you should be?", but what can I say I'm weird like that. I’m tired of the mess I make when cutting a watermelon or pineapple. My counter tops are sticky and all that delicious extra juice goes to waste. So we decided to put our heads together and solve the problem. By building a cutting board set into a basin with a beveled edge it causes the liquid to drain into a contained basin instead of all over the counter top! And by placing the cutting board on a raised platform inside the basin I can flip the board over when I need to chop a different food group and it’s completely clean. And the Bodoki is born!

Anna Pacheco - CFO (Chief Foodie Officer)- marketing and taste approval! With 9 years marketing experience in the entertainment industry and crazy passion for all things food, Anna brings with her a ton of enthusiasm and excitement to get the Bodoki out there to the public.
Daniel O'Steen - Genius and Chief Nerd- product design and inventions. As a hobby engineer and mechanic, Daniel has learned to wire anything from a 120VAC to sensitive robotics and sensors through direct experience. With 9 years of experience designing and creating kitchen products he is definitely the brains of this operation.
Jared Coates - "The Suit"- coordinates supplier network and pays the bills. Jared studied Management Science at UCSD, and has 10 years experience budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating with multiple facets of business. His “regular job” is CFO and has vast experience in manufacturing, importing, shipping, receiving, deadline assignment – you name it! His focus on discipline assures that projects get done on time and within budget.
Todd Fowler - Jack of all trades, and web designer. Armed with a BA in Visual Art and Technology, Todd tackles everything from testing equipment, artist plating, welding prototypes - you name it he can do it.
Flip for a completely clean surface
Because the Bodoki sits on a raised platform you can chop whatever you need on one side and when you need a clean surface just flip it over.
A helpful reminder
Each side of the board will be branded with a cow and carrot to help you remember what kind of food you were chopping on each side.
Food Safe and Sustainable
Using renewable resources and being "green" is important to us. That is why we're using bamboo for the cutting board and rubber wood for the base. Not only do we find these contrasting raw materials beautiful together, but both are renewable and sustainable resources. The inside of the basin is coated in a food grade sealant to hold in the juice and make it so all that deliciousness can be repurposed in your meal.
What's the money for
We need your help to fund our first production run Kickstarters! We've already completed all the design elements and specs and tooling and sent them to our factory in China. The cost of using bamboo is higher than cheaper woods and your money will help us buy the materials in bulk so we can save money and pass it on to you guys. We're huge fans of Kickstarter and what it's about and we want to bring you guys a high quality cutting board that will help you chop, slice, and dice better than ever before.
