Support Man Mug as We Become an American Brand
Join a veteran-owned company on an exciting venture to be the ONLY double-wall stainless steel drinkware manufacturer in the U.S.A.
Man Mug is a double-walled, stainless steel beer mug, perfect for coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon, and beer or cocktails at night. The double wall construction insulates the mug so the outside does not sweat—no need for a coaster. It’s great at keeping hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold.
The initial reaction people have to the mug is, "Oh, awesome!" That in itself is pretty cool. But in fall of 2015 when we started custom engraving our mugs, we saw that people were using our stainless steel beer mug to create a keepsake. It was going beyond just being a useful object and becoming personal and endearing. That got us started thinking about how we can make the entire process a special experience. Great customer service, custom packaging, special goodies, a story to tell—and now a quality American product.
Stainless steel drinkware is wildly popular—and all made overseas. We make an awesome stainless steel beer mug, and as a veteran-owned company, it's important to us that our mug is made in America. Quality matters and U.S.A-made products matter. After months of preparation, we are proud to say Man Mug will be an American brand!
What will being made in the U.S.A really mean?
- Quality control
- Faster receipt of inventory since we aren't going through customs
- The ability to wholesale and work with distributors and large stores
- Ease of scalability of Man Mug
- Employing U.S. citizens
- Helping the economy using local resources and people
- Pride in a quality, American product
- Being a veteran-owned business that is helping to grow our country
Man Mug, only better.
One of our favorite parts of having Man Mug made in the states is this—we get to make it BETTER. Creating new molds and starting new production means we can make the mug what we want it to be. We are tweaking the outer shape of the mug to make it more streamline and we are working on an ergo-grip handle that makes the mug comfortable to hold.
We are also revamping the packaging so it becomes more of a presentation and is fun to receive. Goodbye to the standard box offerings from overseas. We want more for our brand and our customers.
P.S. The packaging will be made in the U.S.A. as well.
Amazon, Starbucks, Harley Davidson, M&M's—you know the names. You also know them as American companies. That's what we are building with Man Mug. A recognizable name that brings to mind a quality, American-made product. Why do we care? Because we're veterans, we're Americans, and we feel strongly about offering a U.S.A-made product to the country we love.

We started working with Folds of Honor in 2015. We designed a mug for them called the Patriot Mug as a way to help an organization who offers scholarships to military spouses and children. It's a partnership we hope to grow as our company grows. Learn more about Folds of Honor here: www.foldsofhonor.org
We've also worked with veteran nonprofits in our area and in states across the country. It's an important piece of our business we hope to grow—partnering with others who want to help our nation's veterans. Other ideas we have include:
- Sponsoring veterans to attend retreat camps for managing PTSD
- Sending Man Mug care packages to deployed military men and women
- Starting our own military-based nonprofit as soon as we are able
Man Mug is Brad, McB, Kim, and Celeste. Brad started the company in 2014 by importing a few mugs from overseas to start a side business. Being the patriotic, entrepreneurial person he is, he quickly decided to go about getting the mugs made in the United States. Except it wasn't a quick process. It took 18 months of sending mugs to manufacturers, hearing "no" over and over, keeping his chin up, and sticking to his conviction. But he finally found a manufacturer who said "yes" and is as excited about an American-made product as we are.
McB and Kim came on as partners in 2015 and Celeste joined us this year. All four partners bring a unique talent to the table and together we are passionate about our stainless steel mug and about having it made in the U.S.A. Three of us are veterans and one of us is engaged to a veteran, so we all bleed red, white, and blue.
Risks and challenges
We are currently in the design phase of the project with our manufacturer, finalizing shapes and features. Working out the details and any issues that arise as we finish may alter our timeline, but we strive to stay on time and on budget. The most important thing to us is to deliver a quality project. Getting it right will always come first, even if it means altering deadlines.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
