My name is Michie and I'm currently an Interaction Design grad student at the School of Visual Arts in New York. I’d like your help in creating Archigrams, a curated print series of famous modern architecture buildings!
What I find so fascinating about modern architecture is their simple, geometric forms and the themes and concepts that are embedded within them. As an architecture undergrad at UCLA, I studied all the iconic ones and have since become a big fan of them, like the Villa Savoye and the Glass House. But because they're so big and expensive, it's pretty impossible for me to own a piece of it.
What if you could collect your favorite architecture buildings in an elegant and artistic way?
In a quest to make architecture accessible to everyone, I illustrated some of the most well-known modern architectural icons and created Archigrams - unique print collectibles that you can actually keep and display in 5x7 print packs and 18x24 posters.
Archigrams consists of 10 designs, made to reflect the beautiful simplicity and whimsy of the building it highlights. The buildings, all of which carry an architectural significance include:
- Eames House by Ray and Charles Eames
- Villa Savoye by Le Corbusier
- Fallingwater by Frank Lloyd Wright
- Gropius House by Walter Gropius
- Farnsworth House by Mies Van Der Rohe
- Glass House by Philip Johnson
- 30 St. Mary Axe by Norman Foster
- Niteroi Contemporary Art Museum by Oscar Niemeyer
- Muller House by Adolf Loos
- Schroeder House by Gerrit Rietveld
For those of you who don't know much about architecture, fear not! The back of every print in the 5x7 print pack comes with interesting information about the building highlighted, including the architect name, architect quote, date built and a brief description of why it’s so special. The last print will be a glossary page of related term definitions and visuals that you can reference as you read through the building descriptions.
Beautifully rendered and informative, Archigrams can be used in a variety of ways, depending on who you are! If you’re an architecture fan, you can hang them on your wall as collectibles or use them as reference. If you simply want to learn more about architecture, this is a quick and easy way to learn about the famous modern architecture buildings and architects that are out there.

Postcard Pack: Postcard prints will be printed by offset lithography from a local eco-friendly print shop on 130lb Cougar White cardstock with a matte finish. Dimensions are 5x7" and one full set will consist of 11 prints - 10 building illustrations and 1 glossary print.
Posters: posters will be digitally printed by the same shop on high quality paper (to be determined) with a dimension of 18x24".
The prints above are just my prototypes, but I envision them to be the first of what could be many different Architecture-themed sets. Please help by pledging or spreading the word - I would truly appreciate your support in making Archigrams a reality.
Thanks for reading and I hope you can join me on this exciting journey!
WHERE WILL YOUR MONEY GO?
The money I fundraise through this Kickstarter will go toward helping me tackle my two biggest production challenges of sourcing my designs to a local print shop and meeting their minimum order requirements. I will be working closely with my printer to ensure that the color and quality of each print comes out to be the best version possible.
Risks and challenges
The designs are ready to go, but I realize there can still be bumps along the way. With extra time built into my projected timeline, I'm confident Archigrams will arrive at your door on time despite unforeseen problems. Also, as I collect more community feedback on Archigrams, I hope to keep refining the design and content, so there may be slight changes to the final product (though rest assured, they will all be good ones).Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
