NOOOOOOOOOOOOO... I'm utterly devastated! Totally looking forward to this...:( Hope they put it up again, I'll be more than willing to lay more money down to support you guys!
I am gutted - totally! This is a real class product - I do hope that big backers pick this up and run with it.
Good luck to all the members of the Team.
Check your email inbox, they sent a message. Such a beautifully engineered system, hopefully they will get a backer, and production will start eventually. There's a lot of rubbish out there, this was definitely a cut above the rest..
Why is it cancelled?
I really hope this has a spurt of pledges in the next 20 days. As much as I want one of these, it doesn't look like it's gonna reach it. You need to spread the word to the tech sites.
Will the case have a mute switch? Couldn't make it out from the pictures.
I'm in. Go, ORA, go!
@hector Guess I should be blaming Apple for the dodgy naming convention, Whats wrong with iPad,iPad 2,iPad 3 and iPad 4?? Much simpler and everyone know which version they have!
"iPad 3" AKA iPad (3rd Generation) was called "the new iPad" released in March 2012
"iPad 4" AKA iPad (4th Generation) is called "iPad with Retina Display" released in October 2012
My girlfriend brought up a point she likes the idea but wishes there was a pink pop color. That might not be a bad idea so you can cater to some of the women that like pink. Or maybe later on make a breast cancer edition.
Ok so that update could be confusing for some.
You say it now supports Retina and iPad 4.
But iPad 3 had Retina.
You should possibly clarify for backers that iPad 3 is fine with the Stealth,POP and LE.
Only the iPad 4 (Late 2012 model) needs the 'Retina' model as you have badly called it.
Having lightning + iPad Mini is a big step. To the Twitter!
OK, People, how do we get the word out about the ORA? I have passed the link on to friends, Liked this on FB. We have a long way to go and 26 days to get there!
@Alexander thank you for your support. And Yes, help us make some noise!
The Ora Team
I am worried,... I think the number of backers is not growing fast enough. At the start 85 per day was sufficient, it is now well over 100. I think we need to make some NOISE, otherwise our iPad's will be silent.
I was looking at the video clip of the ORA in use while playing a video game and I noticed that the camera whole was small. Is it big enough where it can be cleaned if dust collects on the lense? I had this issue with my iphone 4 Otterbox. I was able to wipe the lense but dust started building up around the edge which was hard to get to due to its size.
Hi, I have added $30 extra to my pledge. Please may I have a black cover. Good luck with the project. Great idea.
Hi. I have also increased my pledge by $30. Please add a black cover to my Ora as well. Hope you meet your goal.
Its probably too late in the development stage but it would maybe with the updated version to include a built in stylus.
Hi. I have increased my pledge by $30. Please add a black cover to my Ora. Thanks and good luck. I have been passing the word to friends about this project.
Thanks for your support. and for the shout out. We apologize for the confusion.
For Stealth and a cover modify your pledge to add $30 and send us a personal message specifying what color cover you want. Once we are funded we will confirm your order.
Congrats on the launch Oved and team. Pledged but wasn't sure if there was a way to add a cover to Stealth. Let me know and I will adjust.
We added a secure locking point to make the stand very solid. The locking point provides two angles when flipped. We provides the two most common angles that are used for watcjing entertainment and typing or reading. The locking point secures Ora from collapsing.
Thank You for your support.
Why only one point for the cover to lock into? Couldn't you have several viewing angles by adding more attachment points?
For this kickstarter campaign we are only offering the three Ora Products listed. The only accessories or changes we are offering are the covers. And on Pop the color bezels. Once we are funded we will open The Ora Audio website with more choices at full price. This will be after everyone at kickstarter receives their Ora.
Thank You for your support,
The color in the bezel is a selling point. If your going to decide on color options after the project is successfully funded, how would we change the orders because you can't manage the pledges after the project closes. Unless you hit your goal before the days to go run out, I don't see how that' works. Expecially with limited run pledges.
So that would be a stealth/black model with only an orangish cover, no bezel?
Okay, so just to make this clear, no Lightning Connector guaranteed on the product as yet folks.
If you please Stealth and add 30bucks you can choose your cover color. Unfortunately the bezel/pop color ring is only in the gunpowder grey mesh. They are connected. However, we are exploring different color combos, so after we are funded we know what to develop. Thanks for your input.
Thank You for your support
My pledge would be the same but I want to get this squared away before the limited time pledges run out.
One more question. If I were to order the stealth but want the red/orange cover, does that include the bezel in matching color? I pledged for the ORA POP + Cover/Stand and had wanted that orangish looking model but if I can get the stealth with the same orange bezel along with case then I am set.
You are correct add an additional 30 bucks on your purchase.
Send us a private email stating you added a case. Under updates you will see complete directions.
Thank You for your Support
We apologize for the confusion. You are correct, under Ora Pop there are three color options red (it's a red orange shown on the picture), cyan, and green. The mesh color of Pop is gunpowder warm grey.
In contrast Ora Stealth is matte black. And Ora Limited is exclusive on kickstarter with premium aluminum finishes and matte white. Thank You for your support. The Ora Team
How can I pledge for a stealth and seperate black cover? Just pick the $99 stealth and add $30 to the pledge?
I also thought it was only two finishes but now I'm seeing three. So there is the kickstarter exclusive in white, stealth in black and Ora pop in gunmetal?
I'm confused. The ORA pop shown is orange but under the color options, it says (red, green, cyan). That color is being shown on the homepage?
Thanks for your inquiry. If funded, we plan on launching ORA on time. We have a lot of experience in product development and have planned accordingly. We are currently working on solving for the new lightning connector but will not be ready until after we are funded. So, we can only offer solutions for iPad 2 + 3 for people to pledge on. If funded we plan on launching a product collection for different platforms.
Thank You for your support,
Btw since its release due to Jun 2013 (or longer... usually it get delayed till few months later), Apple will release new ipad (5th gen, maybe on March/Sept 2013). Will you accommodate that possibility? Or should i stuck with the choice of 3rd gen/4th gen ipad case of ORA?
@Paul thanks noted.
@Alexander thanks for your support. Great insights, and yes help us MAKE SOME NOISE and get ORA funded.
It's all sorted out now, thanks. I've pledged $99 for Stealth + $30 for cover +$20 International Shipping.
Have a nice day.
I had a hesitation to start backing up projects, but seeing this device I instantly changed my perspective. This is a device I was really looking forward to. A docking station is not practical. Can't wait till June! :)
1. See post of Eddy Sugihartono: Interresting comment!
2. It would be cool if the ORA had a switch to either use the batteries for the speakers OR to use it as an external battery to recharge the iPad (Similar like the mophie juice pack air concept)
I really hope the number of backers starts growing exponentially soon. 450k is a large amount to collect.
I pledge $149 bucks $99 for stealth + $ 30 to stealth cover + $ 20 international ship.
Ignore my last post - I've changed my pledge to include the price of a cover - in BLACK please to match the unit.
If I need to send a further personal message to you in order to advise of this change, would you please give me the email address to contact?
I've not included postage as I presume they'll ship together (please advise if different).
Thanks for your reply. Have a good day.
@Paul Make sure you are logged in.
When you are logged in. The button on the right (the main pledge button) will say "Manage your Pledge". Once you click on it you can change your amount.
thanks for your reply, but... how do I modify my pledge please?
@Paul, We hear you on this. This is a limitation we ran into with the kickstarter web-creation tool (we couldn't add sub-choices like "choose a cover" . If you've already ordered Stealth and you want a cover, modify your pledge to add $30 and send us a personal message specifying what cover you want. We will gather the information and distribute accurately when funded.
We apologize for the confusion, and will add a note to the main kickstarter entry page to clarify this. Thank you for your support!
Btw right now the ipad is already on 4th Gen... Maybe On MArch 2013, Apple will announce new Ipad (5th gen).
Looks like a great much needed product! I just pledged for a Stealth model . I want to pledge for a cover too, but notice that I can't currently do this. Will you please notify me when this is possible?
Greets from the UK!
