My name is Jennifer Hall. I started writing music when I was 17 years old and have been ever since.
I grew up in a suburb outside of Chicago; I always loved the arts, performing in musicals, singing in the choir... anything artistic and expressive was for me! As I grew up, music became more and more important to me; it was a way of connecting with others, understanding myself and a way to communicate with the world around me.
About the Band
The band came together a few years ago little by little as friends recommended one another, fellow bandmates ran into other musicians at studios around town etc. We have been playing music from the first Jennifer Hall record (In This, released in September 2011) for the last two years and have grown tremendously since that release. That said, we are ready to deliver new fresh music that really shows who we are musically and how we have changed over time.
The New EP
Over the last six months or so, my bandmates and I have written a group of songs that mean a great deal to us, songs about dealing with loss, making amends with yourself, finding love and losing it, and finding peace in where you are or aren't yet in your professional life. It's definitely exciting to make something wonderful out of it all; lemonade from lemons if you will.
We are recording our EP here in Chicago at Rax Trax Recording. With several talented musicians near and dear to us ready to play, we're prepared to deliver the best sounding music we know how to make.
The New Album
We can't wait to record these songs we've written and have worked so hard on; The songs are done, the band is rehearsed... all we need is you.
As an independent artist, I can promise you my constant hard work and tireless efforts in making this project happen successfully and effectively and in the most timely of manners as I know you all will be waiting to receive the music when the EP is finished! I can always guarantee my most heartfelt commitment and dedication to this project. The intent will always be to create honest music played and produced with as much care as possible.
We look forward to some serious foot tapping, heart throbbing (and maybe some dancing) and we feel so lucky to have your help in doing so.

Risks and challenges
During the making our first record, our biggest challenge was simply time. My band and I have cleared our schedules and are prepared to record as soon as our project is funded.
Outside of the normal risks of death or illness, any music recording project has unique challenges. Time in a professional studio is expensive, there can be unexpected costs and delays in working with musicians and producing the album, and of course pressing and shipping a vinyl record can be expensive and time consuming.
I think I am in a good position to deal with these issues. We have already booked time and created a budget at Rax Trax Recording and I have learned how this process works through recording and releasing my last album. I will keep all my backers updated through regular backer updates and be transparent about any challenges we encounter along the way.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
