guys, good job on meeting your goals and deadlines - i backed another project - Thimble - on kickstarter than and they've delayed over 6 months, so congratulations to you and thanks for living up to your commitments.
He is still responding and updating in the other project quite regularly. If you know anybody who pledged to that project, maybe you can get them to make a post for you. Barring that, maybe try posting on Twitter or Facebook?
I still haven't heard a peep about a replacement box for the broken one for the ABWCS either. But at this point I am just going to write it off, as it was an ordeal just getting replacements for the defective dice.
I've just sent Charlie the third email since the last reply I got from him, back in November when he told me my dice should be going out "middle of next week". Let's see if I get a reply to this one...
Any word on the possibility of new boxes for ABWCS?
so, considering that have been more than a month since your last comment, and that emails go unanswered, do I have to conclude that those of us that still have to see their order completely fulfilled are not going to see it? or we can hope sooner or later to see it?
Charlie told me to hold off shipping out the Burl Collectors sets as replacements since some of you had expressed some displeasure about this, also we've continued to have some problems making some of the specialty boxes such as Kauri. He has told me numerous time that he would post an update but hasn't gotten around to it, so if you still haven't received your order and you want an explanation I suggest you speak to him directly, his email is firstname.lastname@example.org
You all should be happy that you actually received your ABWCS at all. 18 months after original order and apparently I'm never getting the set I paid for and I haven't even received the set they supposedly sent in place of. I'm not even getting answers after repeated attempt to contact admin. I can't begin to express my disappointment. As of now, I feel like I've been robbed out of $394 bucks.
Any news for those of us still waiting on a t-shirt?
Lower internal walls are not going to fix anything. As others have said, the dice were too big to even put back in some of the spots.I think the only way to fix this is change the dimensions of the box slightly.
My box problem is the same as @John du Bois, except it is 2 of my corner dice that were so big they pushed the sides out. Either the dice grew or the box shrunk. The dice were so firmly wedged in that I had to pry the edges open to get the dice out without damaging them. One edge snapped off, but the warp where the dice pushed it out is still clear. Having lower walls won't solve that. I need bigger box sections. If you need pics, I can provide them too.
I appreciate the willingness to produce a box with lower internal walls, but unless the box is larger or the walls are thinner, it will not be as helpful with my concern - one of the corner dice is larger than its space (length and width) such that it is pushing the external walls of the box away from one another at the corner. I can send pictures if needed. Thank you for any considerations you can make regarding this.
Charlie says he'll make new boxes with lower internal walls that way larger dice can be pulled out. Also we won't be sending any inserts for the dice, but there is a chart with a picture on update 60.
The final dice was made from ~250 year old swamp cedar.
I don't need a replacement box for my ABWCS, but perhaps a printable insert with the name of each wood on it. Like John, I was disappointed that there wasn't a diagram or something included.
Please add my name to the list inquiring about replacement boxes. My dice arrived yesterday, and while they look fantastic, two of the dice are quite firmly wedged in the box, and the sides of the box are not square (to the point that it looks like the sides of the box were assembles after the dice were already in the box). Thanks!
Finally having the dice in hand, I have no intention of sending them back again. The KS blue mahoe was a light steely blue with no dual tones, however, these are beautifully crafted, so I shall learn to like the two tone look. No worries in that regard.
A replacement box for the ABWCS would be greatly appreciated, as this set will go on display in my curio cabinet. I am happy to see that you are intent on bringing things to a good end. Thank you.
I'll ask Charlie about getting replacement boxes, they may have warped during shipping due to the heat of the trucks they were sitting in. I'll also ask about the final dice, I can't remember what exactly it was.
@Becky- All of our dice are intended to be about 3/4 of an inch wide, but sometime we get in stock that is undersized and we have no choice but to make them small, which is why the pips are not perfectly spread out. Also your dice are Blue Mahoe, they are the set pictured here http://www.artisandice.com/store/blue-mahoe/ which to us looks like a steel blue. Once again we have to use what they sent us, and every thing we got in after the initial order had sap wood in it.
Same thing happened to me. I had to pry my box open to get some of the dice out. Now I have nowhere to display my ABWCS, because of course, I can't get them back in.
Having said that, the dice are much better this time. All of them are square. Eight of them are gorgeous and shiny with pips mostly aligned on all sides. Four of the smaller ones still have misaligned pips on the 6 side.
I am wondering if the smaller ones are harder to work with? Maybe that is why they made some of them on the big side, so we could have better quality dice. Even so, it would be nice if they fit in the display box.
Re. my replacement blue mahoe: They are still not that beautiful steely blue that was shown in this KS. I sent them back because they were a half brown and half blonde colour. After waiting 6 months for my blue dice, I got the exact same colour brown/blonde dice back. Nicely made, but not what I ordered.
I was so excited to finally receive my ABWCS order in the mail! When I finally opened it I was very very dissapointed in the making of the box, I had to literally destroy the box just to get some of the dice out, you guys couldn't have made the box any bigger? Also, it would have been nice to have a diagram describing which dice is which. After a year of waiting, I expected something a little better. The dice are awesome, just wished I could have a box for them to rest in. Is there anyway of getting a replacement box? I just received my very last die, the missing slot in my ABWCS! It looks like a second Kauri die to me, but I'm not 100% positive. : ) Pleasant surprise this evening when my wife texted me. My set has a place of honor on my desk, but until now I'd kept the slot with the etched Texas in the bottom open for the missing die. Thanks!
@kevin - that is correct. we are wrapping up the box making and then we will have one last round of shipping.
Thanks for the update. We really do appreciate them, and keeping us informed (even if it's to say things are delayed) gives us comfort that we haven't been lost in the shuffle.
Can you please let me know the status of my order? Last I heard everything (Bois de Rose, etc.) was completed except for the ABWCS. Is that still the case?

Well now, that is good news. The email must have gone astray, for it has not shown up in my inbox or junk folder. If you could resend it through Kickstarter email, that would be great. I will be happy when the dice arrive upon my doorstep and I can finally see this long odyssey end with good results.
Hey folks, we ran into some more problems with our equipment and just got those solved, as any of you who have checked our other Kickstarter will see we have not really been posting much on there either in the last 6 weeks because we've been busy working on equipment, and the only posts we have made on the other Kickstarter have been about getting that equipment fixed and explaining delays.
Charlie has also been trying to train several new people. This is still, in many ways, a one man show, so any delays which come up that require his attention will stall the whole process, we haven't been ignoring y'all specifically, we've been ignoring EVERYONE, because taking time to continually explain delays prevent us (re: Charlie) from getting those issues solved. I would suggest checking the Facebook page since that is the most time effective method for us to post updates, and we do this on a fairly regular basis. I know some people may be irritated by that, but that's the result of Kickstarter having a buggy and time consuming update system.
For those who have been speculating otherwise, the equipment that we are fixing affects EVERYONE'S orders, new and old Kickstarter, as well as web orders alike. We are filling orders in the order that they were placed, which means that every one of you is currently at the head of the line, and they will be filled first.
There is nothing we would like more than to get these orders filled and sent out. Delays were not planned for or desired on our part, but they happened and Charlie has been working 14-18 hours a day, 7 days a week almost constantly for the last year to make sure that your dice get made and sent out. As we have said in the past, we are sorry that these dice haven't gotten to you in a timely manner, but at this point more apologies are pointless, what matters is getting the dice made and sent out, which is what we are working on.
As for specific issues:
@Tim- There are about 10 people that still need shirts, we'll order more just as soon as we get our dice making issues worked out.
@Becky- Your blue mahoe were french polished by Charlie and sent back yesterday, along with your complete ABWCS. I sent a confirmation email with a tracking number to the email you provided.
@Eric Neumann- Once again, your order is a web order, not a Kickstarter order, and any questions you have about it should be addressed to our contact email, that order is being held up for the same reason as every other order. The only message you sent to either our contact email (on Aug 26th) or facebook (on Aug 20th) was a request for an address change, both of which I responded to.
@Peter- The box making process takes a lot of refining, and we are just now getting to the point that we'll risk putting in a block of Kauri wood due to the expense of breaking one.

They know we are here, they just don't seem to care. They promise updates in a couple days and then months go by before we get a cursory response to our comments. It's been over a year and a half since this project ended, and they treat us as if we are being unreasonable when we express our concerns.
Most of us here spent a lot of money on this project in support of Charlie and Artisan dice, yet we are treated like beggers when we ask for updates. It doesn't make sense to ignore the very customers who had faith in Charlie when Artisan dice just a small start-up and who would have gladly continued to support him if we had only received the dice that we were promised so long ago.
Did anyone back their new project so the can post on the other board and (maybe) get their attention to check this board every once in a while...
So it's over five months since your comment that I was the Kauri backer to miss out at that time - am I going to get my dice any time soon?
I think we can take the silence as an answer. Months of being told that the boxes were all that was holding up delivery and now lots of pictures of the box making machine on facebook and no evidence that any attempt has been made to send any dice.
Hi, the machines were fixed quite a while ago. Are we ever getting our dice? I was told at THE END OF DECEMBER that my order would be ready the next week. It's almost nine months later. PLEASE update us on the progress....
I intensely regret my pledge. I have backed many other projects, great and small, and have never been treated so piss poor as by Artisan Dice.
They're too busy with their new project to care about their original backers. Damn shame they got so much publicity off of this one. I truly regret my pledge. What a surprise.

So I heard... A couple days ago that your box machine is up and running. Any news on our dice, or are you gonna fullfill other orders first?
Sent a Kickstarter Message on August 6th. Haven't heard back yet, are those still being checked and followed up on or is there a better method of contact?
Any word on the T-shirts from this KS? It's the only thing I'm still waiting on.
Just as soon as we get our box making set up going again we'll be shipping out the remaining orders, we can make the dice, just not the boxes that protect them in transit.
I haven't gotten anything at all. Now that the shop is up and running again, any expectations for when we can have our dice shipped out?
And it will be, when you said "severely failed your original backers" I assumed you had not gotten anything at all.
My set was short one dice. We were told the last dice would be mailed to us
We'll have an update for ya'll in a couple of days, we just now have gotten all of our new equipment in, up, and running, as I said a month ago, this is the reason for the delay, the answer has not changed since then, again, I will post an update when the dice are completed and shipped.

I don't really expect that I will ever see my dice at this point. Sad because the pictures of the dice were very nice.
FWIW, this is the full text of a message sent to the project creator on July 16, with no response to date:
"It's been over a year since the projected fulfillment date of the original Artisan Dice project, and I'm a little frustrated that communication is starting to drop off. I understand that you have a lot of plates spinning, but as one of the ABWCS backers, I made a significant contribution to this project and would like more details on what the delays are and what I can expect in the near future. Specifically:
-What portions of the ABWCS are complete? (How many dice are complete and ready to go? What's the status on the replacement wood for the twelfth die?)
-What portions of the ABWCS still need to be completed, and what steps are involved in the process?
-What are the barriers preventing the completion of the incomplete portions of the ABWCS?
-What is your plan for completing this project in a timely manner? Target months for phases of the project would be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to be patient, and am trying to avoid asking for a refund (since this is a product I really want). I'm also hoping not to see a "this product isn't happening" situation like the Petrified Woods or the other (totally unrelated) KS tabletop game that just announced it isn't happening - but I'm starting to get concerned.
This was the most I ever pledged to a project and I won't ever make that mistake again. You severely failed your original backers and we made it possible for you to buy the equipment that made your company possible. I would discourage anyone from buying anything from you.
I wish I could forget about the ~400 dollars I pledged here while seeing all the photographs on facebook of many more than the two polyhedrals that were rewards of this kickstarter.
Any news? Please provide an update for those of us still waiting on dice.
