WHAT IS "HEAD LOPPER" ?
A comic book series written and drawn by Andrew MacLean. This (The Island Part Two: The Wolves of Barra) being the second part of that series. This Chapter will be oversized at 40 PAGES OF STORY plus a huge pinup gallery from TOP NOTCH talent. Here's a couple pinups from Part One:
Other artists featured in Issue One: Brian Churilla, Warwick Johnson-Cadwell, and Tradd Moore.
WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
In this inaugural story arch ("The Island"), Nomadic warrior Norgal has arrived on the Scottish Isle of Barra with nothing but his sword and the talking severed head of Agatha the Blue Witch. The unlikely companions come prepared to slay the beasts that plague the island but what they can't predict is the island itself, lustful for the power to reach beyond it's grey rocks, sees the means to do so through the possibly limitless power contained within the head of Agatha. We follow the warrior and the witch as they decapitate beast after bloody beast all the while unawares they are but a pawn in Barra’s deadly game.
WILL I LIKE IT?
uhhhhhh. YEAH! Head Lopper is born from the nostalgia of Arnold Schwarzenegger as Conan and the Original Clash Of The Titans (1981). Its inspired by Quentin Tarantino's snappy dialogue and ultra-violence, Mike Mignola's Hellboy and of course, heavy metal music!
If the quotes from HL1's reviews weren't enough to convince you, you can get your hands on HEAD LOPPER 1: Blood and Water (digital or hardcopy) by clicking HERE and get a better idea of what to expect for HL2.
I funded the production and printing of Head Lopper 1: Blood and Water myself and it nearly broke the bank. Between paying Mike Spicer, the series' brilliant colorist (as much as I could manage), printing costs, shipping costs, all while taking the time off from paying work to actually create the book... it almost never came to be. In the end, the biggest obstacle is printing. Printing in small quantities dramatically increases the cost per book, which in turn is reflected in the cost I set forth to you, the reader. If I can successfully fund this Kickstarter, I can afford to print Head Lopper 2 in a much larger quantity which will save money in the long run, passing that savings on to you... immediately, right here in the Kickstarter.
The prices reflected in the rewards sections are for printing a quantity of 700 books. Which is NOT huge but helps bring the cost down dramatically. Also note, this chapter will run 50+ pages. The cost to you is very cheap for something so "oversized."
If successful this Kickstarter will fund all pre-production costs (art and design), all production costs (printing), and all post-production costs (shipping and shipping materials.)
WHAT ABOUT THESE REWARDS? ARE THEY WORTH IT?
Here's a better look at a few...
As the watercolor pieces are completed I will post them here:

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at this. Let me know if you have any questions.
Risks and challenges
This project is rather ambitious. Apart from coloring the interiors and creating the art in the pinup gallery, I will personally take care of every aspect of the project... with a great deal of help from my wife no doubt. But I have designed the budget and rewards to be things I can handle myself. I won't have to do anything I have never done before. I have self published, created printing and shipping budgets, shipped endlessly, designed and printed books and t-shirts, and have even been a part of other Kickstarters. I have learned from my mistakes and the mistakes of others and have planned accordingly.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
