What is a prototype?

A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:

Proof of Concept

Explorations that test ideas and functionality.

Functional Prototype

Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.

Appearance Prototype

Looks like the final product, but is not functional.

Design Prototype

Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.

Production Prototype

Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.

About this project

Having taken part in the education sphere for a long period of time, we understand the need for tutoring. It is justifiably a massive industry. In a world where education is more and more standardized and compartmentalized, we see the need for students to learn through one-on-one, human interactions.

Yet both students and perspective tutors face a challenge in today’s tutoring industry.

Students and parents have access to very few tools to find a compatible tutor. They are limited to randomly placed ads in their community or tutoring centers that offer standardized tests and a randomly selected tutor.

Tutors on the other hand, who are often post-secondary students themselves, find it challenging to break into the tutoring world. They have to spend a great deal on promotion or settle for a 9 to 5. For post-secondary students with limited time and a limited budget, this is not a realistic option.

Kttl is a mobile App that solves both of these problems and opens up exciting opportunities for the future of extra-curricular education!

Detailed tutor profiles, a rating system, and our real-time booking system provide students with an extensive pool of tutors to pick from. Students can have real control over their tutoring experiences. Imagine a high school student being able to find a tutor that attends their preferred college, studying their preferred program. On the other hand, Kttl helps talented and busy post-secondary students to tutor on their schedule. Tutors can promote themselves to a large audience and schedule meetings in a convenient way.

We firmly believe that if talented and curious people are brought together in conversation while being grounded in an established discipline, there is no limit to how far minds can excel. It is with this vision that we introduce Kttl – a place that helps minds to converse.

Kttl will be available at the end of May 2017!

Risks and challenges

The largest challenge we face is the one faced by any platform App; building a user-base.

We feel that we are perfectly capable of taking this challenge on, for the following reasons:

1) We believe in the need for our service. We firmly believe that this is something that will be attractive to its audience.
2) We believe that our team of creative and experienced marketing people are capable of taking on this challenge.
3) We are life long students talking to students. As a great deal of our team has been extensively involved in education and continues to be, we feel that we can efficiently speak to students.
