The 7th Continent will return to Kickstarter at the end of September.

Over the past few months, numerous people have asked us if there would be a way for them to acquire the game and/or its expansions. After accessing all our options, we’ve decided that a new Kickstarter campaign this fall would be the best way to reply to these requests.

The 7th Continent is an expensive game (high production costs) to make and it's risky to start another print run without having a good idea of how many copies we'll need. Additionally, those that missed out on certain elements in the first campaign will be able to catch up on expansions and add-ons if they so wish!

Please note though that this will be a "real" Kickstarter Campaign, not just a simple reprint. As we were working on the first set of expansions, many new ideas came to us and we just can’t resist developing them! For those of you brave or crazy enough to follow us down the rabbit hole you’ll find brand new curses to forge even further into the continent, hopefully all accompanied by plenty of new stretch goats!

The campaign will begin on Tuesday the 26th of September.

Remember to, if you haven’t already, subscribe to https://the7thcontinent.seriouspoulp.com/subscribe so that we can inform you as soon as the campaign is live.

Here’s a small taste of what will be waiting for you!

I haven't received the package from DPD. I got messages about when it would be, and what time. The day came and went. On the tracking it even says they delivered it to "PORCH" (we don't have a porch) and it was signed for (we didn't sign for it). Pretty weird, as we were in all day and didn't have any DPD package arrive. Would appreciate some assistance ^ ^

So many packages arriving at the same time not sure if I posted this had arrived in the UK and how impressed I am with everything.
First the packaging Meeple Logistics did was amazing, no way that game box was getting damaged from casually throwing around the parcel.
Then the actual game box, wow, just wow and that is before getting to the contents.
As has already been commented the ability to organise everything from the start in the box, (and I got all the expansions) is amazing and the few sneak peaks of some of the art on the location cards let me know I will be in for a treat once it hits the table (hopefully I can convince my gaming buddies it needs a run out this weekend)

I live in the US and pledged for pretty much everything. |
I also haven't been keeping up with the updates.
THIS "Wave 1 (ASAP) and 2 (31st of July) are going ahead as planned." isn't as helpful as I would like.
Should I be alarmed I have not received anything yet? Not tracking, not an acknowledgement. Nothing.

Just wanted to chime in with a compliment on the box - I tend to organize for most efficient setup/packing, and this is the first game I have had that the most efficient organization was simply the game as packaged - everything fits in the game box and you just pull out the card holders and pull out a few cards/minis and you are ready to go - and packing up is almost as easy.

Hi, So excited to receive my game soon. I am a US backer with end of August shipping. I just had to move for school (and didn't have my mailing address until I arrived). Any chance I can get it shipped to my new address rather than to my (still working) permanent home address? Thanks!

(PS I also sent this as a message to the campaign if it seems vaguely familiar...)

Hey folks, I’m back from Gencon so it’s back to business as usual !

->At the same time, however, I hope that the new Kickstarter won't be a "7th Continent version 2.0", but rather the base game with even more stuff to be added to the version currently on its way to backers.

This is indeed the case If there are any updates/corrections to be made you can be sure that they will be included for you guys.

->Hi, please make sure in the new kickstarter there is a pledge level to just buy any additional content, I don't need to buy the whole game again, and i already bought all the expansions for the first Kickstarter :D

Haha never fear, this will indeed be the case!

->I imagine this will have been mentioned/covered elsewhere already, but it would be great if backers of the 1st run could get fixed errata cards at a sensible price,

Oh I think you’ll find the price VERY sensible.

->Also if there are any brand new stretch goals for the 2nd run, I'd like to see those available to pick up standalone for those of us who have only just got our 1st edition and don't feel like buying a whole 2nd base copy, but who don't want to miss out on anything :-)

      Way ahead of you!

->One minor concern I do have, if SP develop several new expansions, will they all still fit in the original box?

Now this is an interesting question! I will confer with the powers that be.

->So many of us haven't even received the game, and you have already made our game obsolete with a new Kickstarter.
What are your plans to make this right for your original backers?
We're happy that we all came together to made such a success for you, but you are in danger of ruining your goodwill. You didn't even wait for fulfillment to be done before you went back with a new-and-improved version. In your announcement, you did nothing to explain how your foundation backers will be taken-care-of.

As mentioned above, our focus is STILL our existing backers. Even though we have announced this SP are still bending all their effort to making sure people get delivered on time as promised. As I like to think we’ve expressed a lot of will during this campaign I think it would be silly to think that we’d be screwing people over with this one. As stipulated above all backers, old and new, will be taken care of and be able to acquire the content they want/need.

Maybe the next campaign should wait until the majority (say 90% or more) of backers have their game - I do not have the sense right now. I'd like to make an informed decision to back for more stuff as I am sure all the other backers would.

    16. Brackwater on August 19

@Robert I don't know why you wouldn't have room in your box but I sleeved roughly 200 cards and can easily fit all the cards into the three trays into the box. I got all the gameplay addons (so no extra dice and no notebook) and the only things I keep outside because they're not needed so often are the devourer minis and the weather cardboard standees. But even those would fit if I put them into the box losely.

Sleeving everything would be a problem of course as it has been mentioned very often that the box will be too small to fit all cards sleeved. It's even in the FAQ.

@Radu - did you try the hot water trick?

    19. Robert on August 18

I'd like to second what Radu said. With the next KS, I want another box of trays. Or a single large box with many trays. I don't care if I need one large box, or if I can use two normal sized boxes. But I need to sleeve every card and that means I need more room. As it sits now, with every expansion, my box doesn't have any room at all. And that's without sleeving ANYTHING. How on Earth am I expected to sleeve anything, let alone everything?

    20. Radu P on August 18

Embarrassing erratum: one or or two of the minis are crooked - either strangely shaped or bent during transport - not cooked.

    21. Andrew S on August 18

Canadian backer that just got their shipping notification! Woohoo, S&L are on it, now just need Fedex to zip it across the country into my grubby paws!

    22. Radu P on August 18

The game has arrived, faster than the speed of a rickshaw, once it broke through the traffic jam caused in Strassbourg by all the vehicles requisitioned by Chronopost to deliver of this game to its eager backers. And its so beautiful, but oh so delicate: tiny little minis, so small I don't know they were designed to be cooked or somehow got like this during deliver, cards with easily bent corners. So, I had to order thin sleeves for everything.

Thank you, Serious Poulp, Bruno, Ludovic et Cie! You've done a very good work. Your game is an outstanding example of the highest French excellence and style.

Having said this, I badly need an additional tray (« boîtier ») for my soon-to-be-sleeved cards. Please take this into account when you plan your new Kickstarter.

    23. Doctor Nny on August 18

Will the 2nd KS give away the Promos that are already impossible to get with out scalper prices?

      Eddie Lovelace on August 18

Will the 2nd KS contain all the same items as the 1st including all KS exclusive items and expansions. I have actually hope they are going to be offered. Just want to know now though so I can determine what to do with the one I have now.

    25. Caleb K. (Gilgilad) on August 18

They have commented on BGG that they will have an option to get just the new errata cards + new content.

    26. Missing avatar

      Tim Bennett on August 18

Yep, excited for new KS. They've made comments that make me pretty confident they're thinking about how to take care of original backers with things like errata'd cards. I'm also placing my vote for having the option of a bigger or just another empty box to hold the new cards, plus any overflow that may have occurred from having sleeved more that the recommended number of cards.

    27. Baginses
      Superbacker
      on August 18

Considering the lack of a retail release, this game needs another KS. I'm still waiting for my game in Wisconsin USA but I have no problem at all with another KS being announced. I'll probably pick up the expansions this time :D. Congrats SP!

    28. Brendan McGuire on August 18

@André, and they sure do "go on" Hahaha!
Seriously tho, I am excited. These folks know how to run a good campaign. I'm sure they will have various add-on options for the original backers. Why else would they advertise it to us in the original KS?
If they are listening to request, I would like to see an errata pack (or a 2.0 upgrade pack) of cards they fix and/or tweak. But if that is not possible (or too cost ineffective), I'm still a happy camper and look forward to seeing what new things come about. Cheers SP!

    29. André on August 18

I don't think people are unhappy with the new Kickstarter, some are just freaking fear of the unknown.
Which is pretty common among adventures you see.

A hero is he who goes on even when in fear.

    31. Maroufle on August 18

@Rompcat our game is not obsolete ; you'll have the option to buy more extensions, that's all. And errata will be included (see on 7th continent forum).
And KSE obv for new backers cause game is not in retail.. The whole game is KSE !

    32. Tobiasz Kozlowski on August 18

I'm not sure why many people are so unhappy about the new KS. Myself, I'm thrilled. New expansions for this great game. YEAH !!! We get corrected cards YEAH !!!!! New stretch goals, YEAH!!!. People getting old KS exclusives ?, it's not even confirmed and even if yes it will only make better deal for new backers. Better deal = more backers = more stretch goals = more content for old backers as well. I'm really happy for the new KS.

Hope that backers of the first Kickstarter won't be harmed by this second printing/edition. I don't like (and I think more people do) when the base game it's different (colors, components, box...) from 1st edition to 2nd edition, very frustrating for the first backers... Moreover, if colors of new expansions don't match with colors of 1st edition base game and so on

    40. Martín on August 18

      Great news!

Please, as asked by many of us, make all the new and corrected (errata) stuff available in a separate pledge for us, the ones from the 1st campaign. Alsoit would be nice to have the option of buying an empty box (or an expansion box to hold all the additional stuff).

Some great ideas for SG and pledges are already arising:
      - fixed errata cards
      - flash cards for the back of the holders
      - empty box for expansions

and of course your new expansions!

Literally cannot wait. Until then I continue the voracious goddess.

    42. Ren on August 18

Forgot to add, I've a suggestion for a stretch goal. Flash cards to put at the back of the 3 card holders, to avoid seeing the last cards by accident. I'm using a piece of paper now but it would be nice to have something custom.

    44. Ren on August 18

Awesome news! I've played ~6h since yesterday and the game does live up to the hype. I feel like I'm a kid reading the Lone Wolf books again, only better and in full colour! And each curse seems to add a lot of replayability so I'm very excited to get more content. Fingers crossed it won't take 2 years this time. (But please go easy on the stretch goats. I found a goat and... Please go easy on the stretch goats...)

    45. James Bylett on August 18

I imagine this will have been mentioned/covered elsewhere already, but it would be great if backers of the 1st run could get fixed errata cards at a sensible price, I wouldn't expect anything for free, but I'm sure there could be an option that is fair to original backers without causing Serious Poulp to have to take a big hit.

Also if there are any brand new stretch goals for the 2nd run, I'd like to see those available to pick up standalone for those of us who have only just got our 1st edition and don't feel like buying a whole 2nd base copy, but who don't want to miss out on anything :-)

One minor concern I do have, if SP develop several new expansions, will they all still fit in the original box? Much as I would love to see more content, one thing that I think was done really well with the 1st edition was that the box was made big enough to fit the base game and all the expansions if you went all in, and while personally I skipped Fear the Devourers and so have a little space left in my box, there's not a vast amount of room for more. So will the 2nd edition box be bigger? If so will the bigger box be available standalone to 1st edition backers?

Thrilled about the succes of the game, and the prospect of even more content! :)

At the same time, however, I hope that the new Kickstarter won't be a "7th Continent version 2.0", but rather the base game with even more stuff to be added to the version currently on its way to backers. A bit disappointing if our game is already looking to be outdated, before it even arrives...
