About this project
The Incredible Adventure of Jojo (and his annoying little sister Avila)
Please click on the picture above to see our trailer and a message from one of the stars of our film.
This is a 90 min feature film project that my wife and I have been toiling away at for the last several years, and we need your help to finish it!!
It's a movie about a mother who takes her two children, Jojo and Avila, to go visit their Grandma in the woods. On the way home, the mother gets into a brutal car accident and six year old Jojo is forced to take care of his baby sister Avila. They encounter an angry hobo, wolves, raging rivers and other obstacles in their attempt to make it back safely to Grandma's house with all their limbs intact.
You can learn even more about our sweet little movie at www.incrediblejojo.com .
Its like 'Milo and Otis', but with toddlers and more death defying stunts. Its not your normal kids movie. It might be given something around a PG rating, but it's a hard PG. This is the movie where you have kids playing with knives, getting dragged away by wolves, and doing things they're not suppose to be doing. This is an adventure family film with kids that aren't afraid to get dirty.
We shot this entire movie with just two people. Occasionally we could convince people to show up and help us out for a day or two, but for the most part it was just the two of us. Every single day we had a baby tied to our back while we were lugging heavy film equipment into these canyons and we were constantly popping tires driving through rivers to get to our shooting locations.
How Kickstarter works
Kickstarter is a new system to fund creative projects of all shapes and sizes (even kid-size movies!!!). Without Kickstarter, a lot of these projects wouldn't get off the ground. But Kickstarter also works as all or nothing. In other words, if we don't raise our goal of $29,000, we don't get a single cent. So please help us reach our goal!!!!
We've tried to make our film project have a bunch of cool incentives, and I think everyone will love each of the things that we're giving out. Even at the small end we have some cool sound bytes, artwork, and an animated cartoon from the film. I think people will love the big prizes as well, especially getting the chance to shoot your own short film or having a super adventure weekend for two up in Sonora, California. With Valentines coming up, it might even make for a great romantic getaway for the adventurous types. You can get a chance to see hidden caves and secret waterfalls, and have one of the most action packed weekends possible!!
How do I pledge? And can I give a billion dollars?
Just click the green “Back This Project” button in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. You will be asked to input your pledge amount and select a reward. From there, you will go through the Amazon checkout process. You must finish the Amazon checkout process for your pledge to be recorded. We will allow pledges of a billion dollars (We're looking at you, Zuckerberg.).
What happens if we don't reach our goal?
We get zilch and all pledges are cancelled. Your credit card won't get charged and you won't need to worry about anything. But we really hope this doesn't happen.
We're just trying to get this film finished, and post-production is a really expensive part of the process. From coloring, sound design, visual effects, to song rights, it really adds up quickly. On top of that, we need just a little bit more to be able to submit to film festivals and to be able to print posters and help create publicity for this thing. It would also be nice to be able to bring the kids to the film festivals, so they could get a chance to see an audience enjoy all the hard work they put into it.
How else can I help?
Even if you can't afford to donate, it's a huge help just to spread the word on facebook and in the real world. For the few of you who might not be able to give a billion dollars, you could at least tell a billion people about our project (or you could tell ten people, whatever number is more managebale ). Every little bit (or billion) helps a lot.
If you have any questions about anything, feel free to email us at email@example.com or at www.incrediblejojo.com .We appreciate every little bit of support we can get. Thanks you for all your help!!!
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
