Hi, we have just completed our first feature film, and its a little bit different than normal movies. Our film is a kid's survival film. It's about a boy named Jojo that wakes up from a car crash deep within the woods, and together with his baby sister, they try to make it back home alive with nothing more than a pocketknife, and a little bit of faith.
We even have great rewards starting at a mere $2. You can own an excerpt from the film involving 'a baby exploring a razor-sharp wolf trap'; so please come check out what our film has to offer.
This is what other people have been saying about it:
This is not a film for over protective parents; we have kids dangling off cliffs, boys use pocket knives, girls eat bugs, and kids get chased by wolves. This is a film for people who wants to show kids how much fun and adventure you can have outside, and maybe convince them to put down their screens every once in awhile. You can preview a short 30 second trailer by clicking on the play button on the picture below.
So let me tell you what we want our kickstarter campaign to do. We want to expose more people to our film, especially kids who are normally excluded from getting to see films like this.
1. If we reach $350, we will purchase:
An outdoor public announcement speaker. We already have an old projector, but we don't have speakers. With this, we would be able to show our film to different groups of kids; from scouting groups to community organizations, and anyone else we can get to sit in a chair.
2. If we reach $850, we will be able to translate our film into Spanish so that we can expose more kids to our film. We've been invited to a few festivals in Spanish speaking countries, and we'd really like to be able to share the film in their native language. ( We are also open to translating to more languages, please see our rewards on the side. )
3. If we reach $2850, we would also like children who are hearing-impaired to be able to enjoy our movie, and unfortunately, children who have hearing issues at an early age don't learn to read as quickly as other kids, so subtitles generally don't work for them. There is a minimal amount of entertainment provided for young kids who are hearing impaired, and we don't want to make this the case for this film. We'll hire a sign language translator, rent studio space, and film them performing the entire movie. This will be placed to the side of the screen so these kids get to enjoy this movie as well.
Note: As soon as we reach our fundraising goal of $350 dollars, even if the auction is still going, we can send out the pre-theatrical release limited edition of our film, just in time before Christmas. Hopefully, this will be a collector's item some day, and we'll have you guys to thank for making it possible.

JOJO HANGING ON FOR DEAR LIFE POSTER
$300- The director will come and deliver a special screening of the film for your group, scouting organization, or family at your location in San Diego county. We will also talk to kids about filmmaking, and teach them what they need to do so they can go out and create their own movies. Most filmmakers state that by the time they got to college, they had already created hundreds of little movies on their own with neighborhood kids, and that experience taught them what they needed to become professional filmmakers. We can arrange screenings in other locations, but we would need to raise the cost to account for travel and accommodations if needed.
$500 - You'll receive a copy of the shooting script of the film, 'autographed' with the painted handprints of the child actors from the film. A very special little treat, from very special kids.
$750 - We'll translate the film to the language of your choice, as long as we can find a translator of that language. If we cannot locate a translator, we'll refund your pledge.
$1000 - A very special, limited edition metallic version of our movie poster. Only 3 will be made.
Risks and challenges
We have the film completed, but that's just half of the goal. The other half is getting it out there so people can see it.
We have a wide variety of rewards available, and our goal is to have these rewards in the hands of parents and kids by Christmas. We'll have to work extra hard to make sure the hats and t-shirts are made and shipped out by then.
We also are working on translating this film to different languages including American Sign Language. We need to make sure we find the right people that we trust to translate it, the right way. It may take longer than expected to find the right translators, but we'll keep with it until its done.
We also love to put on screenings and talk to kids about filmmaking and the excitement of the outdoors. We would love to travel anywhere to do this, but it just comes down to covering the extra costs for travel expenses. We can even show kids how they can create and edit their own movies, so they can become future filmmakers.
Thank you for your support, and we hope you love our movie.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
