Update: We made the newspapers 3 times! People are really getting onboard helping out with this project.
I'm up to 64 dresses, 20 pairs of shorts and 15 t-shirts as of writing this.
AS soon as I get photos of the children wearing the clothing I will send the photos to ALL backers. Worth a few dollars to see children who have nothing getting something lovely all of their own!!!
Increase in rewards!
Every backer $10 and over now gets a keyring. If you are outside Australia you will have to pay postage, after all, this is to raise money for postage in the first place!
If you donate $20 or more you get an article of clothing donated IN YOUR NAME. That article of clothing will have your name pinned to it so they know who it comes from.
$50 and I'll do the same thing to 3 pieces - even through $20 x 3 is really $60 - so you get a discount on the third piece ;) And you get a piece of kids clothing (you tell me age and gender) for yourself, unless you want it donated for you.
$100 still gets you your own kids clothing (3 pieces) - which you may choose to donate if you wish. Postage within Australia included.
Risks and challenges
All the clothing has to be brand new and hand made. Second hand clothing can't be sent via these charities as there is extra red-tape at the recieving countries end for second hand products. This is just info in case you were wondering why we just don't buy second hand!
Personally, my main obstacle is my health. Some days it's painful to stand, other times it is painful to sit. But as I have to be doing something, sewing is a pretty non-painful choice! It's also a wonderful pass time for me personally as it allows for a certain amount of creativity and problem solving while still being relatively low stress.
I have a wonderful support group of people who help with donating fabric, as well as helping me wash and iron, and, once I start to post, I have someone who will go to the Post Office for me.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
