About this project
Thursday Boots are....
- Super premium boots handcrafted in North America with the highest quality construction methods and best materials in the world. Thursday Boots are built with Goodyear welt construction, Chromexcel and Thursday Chrome leathers, low-profile studded rubber outsoles, cork bed midsoles, an EVA Comfort Strip used in premium athletic shoes, and glove leather interior lining.
Versatile: Why does it seem like every boot is made for construction workers or rockstars? At Thursday, we designed boots with the durability of a work boot and sophistication of a fashion boot to help you stand confidently in any setting.
Long-lasting: Just like your favorite pair of jeans, Thursday Boots get better with time. Stop dodging puddles and crying over spilt beer. Wear these boots hard and you will be rewarded with rich patinas on the leather uppers and a more comfortable boot as the cork bed midsole conforms to your foot.
- Great Value: Our boots compete toe-to-toe with luxury brands 2-5x more expensive. By staying lean and cutting margins, we are able to offer the highest quality boots at an unbeatable value.
Lasts: Every aspect of our boots is designed with comfort in mind. It all starts with the 'last' (the mold that creates the shape of the boot). After a time-consuming and expensive last making process, we created the ergonomic 'Equilibrium' last for our Diplomat boot and the sleek yet functional 'Foundation' last for our President and Captain boots. Both lasts are engineered to ensure that our boots support your feet in all of the right places.
Cork Bed Midsole: Thursday Boots are built for everyday wear. While most shoes get less comfortable as they quickly fall apart, Thursday Boots come with a cork bed midsole that conforms to your foot over time, similar to a memory foam mattress.
EVA Comfort Strip: We also invested in an EVA Comfort Strip, a component of most premium athletic shoes, to provide more cushion and put some extra bounce in your step.
Fully-lined Glove Leather Interior: Every boot comes with full glove leather interior lining. Smooth and supple, you will never want to take your Thursday Boots off (but you probably should every now and then).
Leathers: Our leathers are amazing. We use our own Thursday Chrome leather (developed in partnership with the gold-certified Le Farc tannery in Mexico) and Horween’s famous Chromexcel. Our competitors like to paint and manipulate the leather before selling them to you. We don’t. That is because both of our leathers are chock full of natural oils and waxes that keep the boot looking great while providing protection against the elements. And over time, they’ll look even better. Similar to a great pair of raw denim jeans, Thursday Boots will develop unique patinas that reflect your daily adventures.
Goodyear Welt Construction: All of our boots are handcrafted using Goodyear Welt Construction. Goodyear welting is the highest quality method for footwear construction, and used in only the top 1% of men’s shoes. It creates a virtually waterproof seal at the insole and it makes your shoes completely resoleable. This means that with proper care, the Thursday Boots you buy today will last you for years to come.
Outsoles: Our high density rubber outsoles are made with low-profile circular lugs that give you extra grip for snow days and slippery barrooms. The minimalist circular lug outsoles don't attract nearly as much gunk as the more common, cheaper grooved lug soles. This results in easier cleaning and a sharper overall profile.
We knew exactly what we wanted in a boot - something that was durable, sophisticated and versatile enough for our busy lifestyles. Our inspiration came from our awesome friends and our favorite day of the week - Thursday. It's that perfect day that is full of work and play. On a Thursday, you need to be ready for anything.
With that in mind, we set out to build a boot that could handle the long work days and equally long nights. After working 7 days a week for months (seriously), we developed partnerships with the best suppliers and manufacturers in North America to make our passion project a reality.
Thursday boots fit true to size. For example, if you measure as an 8.5 on a Brannock device (those metal devices used at nearly every shoe store), we suggest you purchase an 8.5. We recommend a snug fit as the leather and the corkbed midsole will stretch and conform to your foot. All widths are D, which accommodates most feet. If you have extremely wide or narrow feet, please let us know - we will work to produce shoes for the less common widths if there is enough demand.
If you don't know your size and you don't feel like swinging by a shoe store, this printable version of the Brannock device will serve in a pinch.
Still ordered the wrong size? No sweat. Simply send the shoes back and let us take care of the shipping & handling. Note: we can only afford to make this offer for unused shoes, so try to decide if they fit or not before you go hiking in Patagonia or partying in Vegas.
We have scheduled our production run to begin on October 20th. While there are some risks (see below), we aim to have Thursday Boots on your feet within 3 weeks of the campaign closing.
After choosing your reward, we will message you directly on Kickstarter within 24 hours to get your style/color/size selections. Because we are using a lean production process and manufacturing shoes as they are being ordered, it is important to fill out the selection survey as quickly as possible. Your fast reply enables us to deliver your Thursday boots sooner!
Our factory partners are ready to go. We have already produced 3 small runs of our boots, and have done significant testing - including one full trash can of beer (ask us about it later). All of our lucky friends and family that have tried Thursday Boots agree that they are the best boots they have owned….although there is a risk our friends are lying to us!
With any product, the biggest risk is a delay in the manufacturing process. Although we have planned out every detail, surprises can occur. If there are any issues we will be proactive in our communications and resolve them as quickly as possible.
Because you’re tired of buying shoes that end up in a landfill four months later. Because you can’t find boots you really love. Because you support real fashion, not trends. Because you can purchase two or three pairs of our boots for what some of our competitors charge. Because you want to support two entrepreneurs trying to make it happen. Because no day of the week perfectly describes your life as much as Thursday.

Our boots are constructed with our partners in Leon, Mexico alongside some of the highest quality brands in the world. We explored factory partnerships all over the world and contacted over 100 factories. Leon is known as the “Shoe Capital of the World” for a reason.
We work with two tanneries: Horween in Chicago and Le Farc in Leon. All leather originates from USA cattle. It really is the best leather in the world.
Horween has been in operation since 1905 and is one of the best known tanneries in America. Aside from making the revered Chromexcel leather that we use for Thurdsay Boots, they are also the sole leather provider to the NFL.
Le Farc is located in Leon, Mexico and is one of the best tanneries in the Western Hemisphere. A finalist in the Americas region for the Tannery of the Year awards in 2013, they are gold-certified for environmental sustainability.
We are operating with a lean production model and have materials on hand for 2,700 boots for delivery this season. If demand continues to grow, we have the ability to order more materials and keep production open through January. Connor and I are incredibly happy that so many people want Thursday Boots, and we are working around the clock to make sure we take care of our Kickstarter backers. Thanks for helping us launch this company! We couldn't have done it without you.
Since Thursday boots are true-to-size, the best size to buy is the one you most often wear for boots or other leather shoes, such as dress shoes. Please see the International Size Conversion section for more direction. If your questions are still unanswered, don’t hesitate to send us a message.
Our number one goal is the provide you with boots that you love, so that you can tell your friends about Thursday boots. So if you just aren’t happy with the fit of your boots, we will provide free exchanges in the same color and style, so long as the boots are in unused condition.
Like any leather footwear, Thursday boots will expand slightly over time, adjusting to your unique foot shape as you wear them. The untouched leather will start a bit stiff, but just like those raw denim jeans, breaking them in is worth the work. We suggest giving the boots a few light wears to allow the boot time to settle before you start hiking the length of Manhattan.
Please add $40 to your order if you would like us to ship your shoes internationally. If the cost of shipping is more than that amount, we will ask you to pay the difference. If the cost of shipping is less than $40, we will refund that amount.
International shipping is tricky - shipping prices and taxes/duties vary from region to region. Although there is not a specific reward tier for international shipping of multiple pairs, we want to make it work. Simply pick the reward tier you would like, add $60 for shipping 2-3 pairs, and send us a message on Kickstarter stating that you would like multiple pairs for international shipping. If the shipping cost is lower than $60, we will refund that amount. If it is higher, we will request those additional funds from you. We should also note that we cannot do free returns for international shipping, so please be thoughtful about the sizes and styles you order. Finally, additional taxes and customs duties may apply in certain countries - please consider this ahead of making your pledge. We are deeply grateful to all of the international backers who have shown their support. If you have any questions about your specific situation, please send us a message so that we can explore the best shipping solution together.
Our genuine top priority is to get Thursday Boots on the feet of our amazing Kickstarter supporters. While we plan to continue the Thursday Boot Company mission long after the Kickstarter project closes, we strongly suggest people support the Kickstarter for 2014 delivery at $199 per pair.
Send us a message and we will make sure to get you the number of boots that you want.
First off, a big shout out to all of the ladies that have supported our Kickstarter! We are thrilled that so many of you like the boots. We are considering the possibility of an expansion into women’s boots after the Kickstarter campaign. If you like the style, we will point out that US women’s sizes tend to be 1.5 sizes higher than US men’s sizes (ie: 7.5 in women’s = 6 in men’s)!
We have decided we will not be making larger width boots this season (width E and higher). We really want to get Thursday Boots on EVERYONE’s feet, but we are focused on doing a great job with our first production run before expanding to wider sizes. This was a tough decision for us, but we take size/fit testing very seriously and do not feel that we have enough time to conduct proper testing within the next month. Thank you for your interest - we hope to get perfectly fitting Thursday Boots on your feet as soon as possible!
Please share our story and Kickstarter with your friends and help us grow the #TeamThursday movement! By producing at a larger scale and getting more early supporters, we will be better able to continue making the highest quality boots at a great value. We want this business to last a lifetime, and are so grateful to all of you who are joining us at the very beginning.
We are also rolling out some fun content on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. If you want to get a sneak peek of the content we will be releasing, or want us to send you a personalized social media shout out, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your Twitter and/or Instagram handle.
